It is wrongly christened here as Catholic Church. After inquiry we came to know that it belongs to the protestant league, the Catholic church is inside Cantonment area and needs special permission for viewing. This Protestant church is generally open to public only on Sundays. With the help of our guide and the caretaker we could enter on a weekday. The church is just beside the Club View Lodge of MPTDC. Surrounded by greenery this beautiful church stands imposingly picturesque. The church was built in 19th century in the memory of a British Captain of Bengal by his friends. The stained glasses of the archaic windows inside the church add to its beauty.

This is located right on the main road. Easily accessible. Nothing special about the place. Like normal church in any other place. How ever quite peaceful. Nice to walk around the place in the evening.

If you love photography. Then you must spend time here. This church could be anywhere in the world. It offers fine angles and several possibilities. Close to everything else and unmissable.

Quite an old world charm and we attended the sunday morning prayer...Felt like heaven!
The structure dated back to the 19th-20th century. The beautiful mural and motifs and glass paintings on the windows is quite enthralling. But the sad part is the low standards of maintenance. The state govt should keep it high on their agenda to take care of the architectural treasure they've inherited!

Visited the Catholic Church during our family trip to pachmarhi. Was surprised to know that the trip advisor community has largely been misidentifying the Protestant church as the Catholic Church .
The two listings under things to do - Christ church and the Catholic Church - are actually of the same church - the Christ Church or the Protestant church.
The Catholic Church is actually located inside the Army Education Core (AEC) cantt. That's the reason most tourist miss it . And as the Pachgarhi tourism sites and boards talk about Catholic Church as one of the places to visit , the centrally located Protestant church is mistaken as the Catholic Church
My reviews has the correct images . It is the Church with largely red exterior .
The Catholic Church is newer , constructed around 1925 and less majestic of the two.
The interior though are nicely maintained and has some impressive stained glass .
The Alter has a gold cross . The series of murals on the wall depict Christs last journey . It also has a statue of mother Mary with baby Jesus on one side .
The church's tower is visible from the bridge on pachgani lake on the left side just before the Protestant church which is on the right if you are coming from Sadar bazaar .

This church is in the army area. I thought there is a way to reach there near Pandav caves but the army personnel standing there stopped me going inside.

The Catholic Church in Pachmarhi is the oldest church there. It is open only on Sundays. It was the first place we visited and when we visited it, mass was going on. Participating felt like God's blessing for our trip. The stained glass work is truly marvelous and the pulpit is beautiful. It takes you right back in time.
