The lake is beautiful, the water is greenish blue, as it's fed by the waters of the glaciers. The boat ride is highly recommended. The boat operators are particular about safety as they insist on passengers wearing the life jacket. The motor boat driver who also doubled as a guide gave us an interesting commentary of the life of the... More

The lake is very pretty with the boating being the cornerstone of the experience. The wind speeds were high when we visited and hence it was chilly with the waters being a bit choppy. The boating prices seem steep (INR 300/- for adults and INR 200/- for children). But overall a nice experience.

Lake surrounded by hills. Boating in this lake is enjoying but Speedy motor boat finishes its trip in 8 mins which is so less time. Dam looks terrific.

This is the best part of the entire Dalhousie trip. Although the ticket cost is very high Rs.300 per per person. But it is full paisa vasool because it is a shared boat with good 30 min ride. It is safe as they give life jackets, as that was my primary concern. But thik hai you have come to spend... More

Serene , clam , peaceful , there are boat rides & speedboats for the fearless. Dal lake Srinagar is crowded, stuffed with tourists , houseboats, shikaras, unlike Chemera which is much more beautiful
