This place had a natural flow of water during rainy season. The Tourism department of Himachal has made into a beautiful picnic spot along with the construction of a restaurant and now it is a major tourist attraction.

This place has come alive in the last five years after the state of Himachal created a tourist spot around a natural water fall. A number of tourists can be seen here and enjoying street food.

Planned 15 years ago, this place came to life only three years back after Himachal Tourism completed the prjoject . A good waterfall, unfortunately this year you can not enjoy because there was very less rain and scanty snowfall during last winter. It will develop into a major tourist attraction within next two years . Even now one can have a relaxed afternoon with family and enjoy local food which is not expensive.

There is no entry fee for this Rock garden. It is 8 kms from Banikhet. It will not take much effort if you are already bound to Chamera Lake or Bhalei Mata Temple from Dalhousie. It is just on road. It is not like Rock Garden of Chandigarh. It has been created by diverting flow of a natural hill stream through some artificial shallow pools. You can even take bath at appropriate stream upstairs so if you are one of those who feel that their visits are fulfilled only if you are able to take bath at natural places then come prepared with towel and extra dress. As per inauguration slab it was inaugurated on 14th April 1997. There is a snacks-tea-coffee shop but not a proper restaurant. I watched yellow-billed blue magpie here. Himalayan bulbuls were also in plenty. Also saw a blue-whistling thrush. May be if one spends a lot of time he can discover more species.

It is a place you visit in desperation after having found nothing better at all in this small town. The place has no garden and I simply could not understand why they call it a rock garden. Its a place that is besides a rock face, is supposed to have some sort of a water wall which I believe comes to life only during the monsoon, it was a mere trickle in the harsh summer of June 2019. There are water puddles, which folks enjoy sitting besides simply because there is no other better thing to do, especially if you have been conned by the cabbie and offered a ride all the way down to the Chamera lake. This garden is close to the lake and enroute your way back to Dalhousie. Absolutely avoidable unless you are desperate to simply dip your feet into some river water.

A landscaped garden with streams, rocks and small bridges- similar to all other rock gardens found scattered around the country. Will provide ample selfie and photo opportunities if u wanna take pics of urselves. Located on the Chamba-Dalhousie road, just at the entrance to Dalhousie.
