Dive India has pioneered diving on Havelock, and their reputation as a professional and well-run operation remains well deserved.

Due to the geopolitical peculiarities on the islands (the Andamans are in east indian time despite being closer to Myanmar and Thailand) both sunrise and sunset happen early, which translates to a very early start for diving. For some dives you have to be ready to board the boat at 06:00. For that reason, it's a very good idea to stay on site at Vinnies if you're planning several days of diving. You'll be staying literally next to the dive boats.

Some of the fun dives (Johnny's gorge springs to mind) demand experience and skills due to he depth and sometimes strong currents involved. The dive masters are professional and very helpful, but you do have to be ready to take responsibility for your own safety. There are also plenty of shallower and easy dives, which are no less interesting.

This is a particularly good place for initial diver training - I've overheard instructors on mulitple occasions, both on dive boats and at the cafe, doing additional training and discussiong dive theory with newbies, answering their questions, and addressing indivicual problems. Safety and skills development seems to be taken very seriously here. I was very impressed with what I could overhear of these sessions, it goes way beyond the minimum standard. I wish my own initial training had been this good.

A standard day consists of 2 boat dives in the morning, and sometimes (depending on demand and conditions) a night dive from a nearby shore. There are no afternoon dives.

Dive gear can be kept on site, it's not locked up but this is a very safe place with honest and friendly people, and gear does not go walkabouts (unlike, say, in Guadeloupe).

Staff are doing their upmost to give you a good time here (thanks Mantou and Dave, you guys rock!), and if there are any problems all you'd need to do is chat to people. I've had a very small misunderstanding regarding a spontaneous change to my dive package, which was resolved very amicably and generously. You can't ask for more.

Big thumbs up for Dive India. Highly recommended.

Without a doubt the best location, and service, in India to learn to dive. I first visited in 2012 with my family, including young children and non-divers, and they had as magical a time as I did. Great family atmosphere, excellent facilities, comfort and service. Beautiful location. The diving itself is spectacular - this is part of the same island chain that goes all the way south to the Similans and Phuket, and has similar underwater ecosystems and species, but the experience here is less crowded, the water is clearer and the experience more memorable. Most importantly, the team at DIVE India will invite you to join an extended family of divers, based in India and around the world, for the chance to join exclusive, great value dive trips through DIVE India Outbound, as far afield as Mozambique, Egypt and the Galapagos. I've trusted these guys since 2012 to guide me through the world of diving, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I dived with Dive India 15days straight diving every day. I started on the 90th dive and finished like 114 on my Sunnto dive computer and Sony A6000 with Meikon housing, Both about 4 years old. I have dived around Asia all the way from Lakshadweep, Maldives, Thailand, Bali, Gili to RajaAmpath . I can say that it is in Andamans I had the most easy and comfortable dives and wonderful dive masters with very good knowledge of underwater life and behaviour. Especially Dev (swarajdweep) and Vikas (Shaeeddweep) were a delight to dive with. I can easily say that Dive India is the best in what I have seen.

One of the absolute best places to learn diving without a doubt.

For expert divers it’s a delight none the less. The dive masters are very kind to try and find what you might be looking for. If you carry a camera then there are certain shortcomings.
1) DI boats don’t have a camera box on board so lens can get scratched.
2) I am not a big fan of dive briefing on board.
Environmentally very sensitive Dive India is awesome. Carry your own water flasks and you can refill it all the time with filter water. Also no plastic bags on board is a wonderful thing. Also don’t use sunscreen which aren’t reef friendly.
I definitely recommend diving with Dive India put a 4,5/5 stars to them.

What a great group of people! We had fabulous diving experiences with them both on Havelock and Neil islands. The dive leaders and crew were so friendly, helpful and professional - we felt we were in good hands. The boats and equipment were first class. The dives themselves at the least interesting and at best spectacular. We did six days of diving on Havelock and two days on Neil for a total of 16 dives. Special thanks to Dev on Havelock and Netti on Neil for their great leadership. Very knowledgeable and safety conscious. And the crews that supported them were equally impressive. The Full Moon Cafe on Havelock and its sister restaurant on Neil served a huge variety of delicious food, much appreciated. One thing to note is that the accommodation on Havelock at the Dive India site is definitely “rustic” - think “glamping”. Comfortable but far from luxurious. Otherwise a great experience for us. Sorry the Corona virus crisis meant we had to cut it short. Thanks to all!

We are two advanced divers (around 80 dives) and were very happy with this diveschool. We did the 7N package (accomodation + diving) which included 13 dives in total. To be honest: our first impression of the school wasn't good, because on the first day we were grouped with a beginner who just had her open water, which meant we couldn't go deep and thus went to easy and not very interesting dive sites. Luckily they made up for this during the rest of our stay. They really did their best to offer us and the other advanced divers a great experience. We went to some amazing sites (Dixon's, Johnny's), the staff was very helpful and professional and the equipment was good. Our divemaster Montu was great; very enthusiastic and professional and just a great guy. We did one night dive which was very cool as well, with lots to see. We definitely recommed choosing Dive India if you visit Andaman!

Some general tips if you consider diving on Andaman:
Bring anti-nausea medication if you're prone to sea sickness, because the boat rides can be pretty rocky
There are lots of diveshops on Andaman but not a lot of them offer an interesting package for experienced divers, most of them focus on beginners
Bring enough cash to the islands because cash machines often don't work and cards are not accepted in most restaurants
We liked the accomodation of Dive India, but it's very basic (even the upgraded huts). However, I think most of the accomodation on Andaman is like this and we liked being close to the diveshop. Also, if you choose the package they also arrange all transport on and between the islands, which was very convenient.

DiveIndia is one of the best diving outfits that I have ever dived with. They are professional but fun. They take care of your very need. Their equipment is in excellent shape. The dive masters are skilled, knowledgeable and yet friendly and approachable. This applies whether you are diving with them on Havelock or Neil Island. We did a 14 day package and included the transfer package which is a must. They pick you up at the airport and transfer you to ferries and hotels, providing you with the ferry ticket eliminating the hassle of trying to get one on your own. This was especially helpful when our days on Neil were cut short due to Coronavirus. They also provided us with a refund for the days and dives we didn’t complete. This is a great operation, with professional staff and the only company to dive with if you are on the Andaman.
Thanks everyone!

Did my open water certification with DiveIndia recently
Vinnie (who runs DiveIndia) was my instructor for the pool training in Bangalore alongside theory sessions. He’s quite witty and with 30 years diving experience he tells you everything you need to know and makes it practical and relevant.

Mel was our instructor during the open water dives. Her briefings were well articulated and we learnt a lot from her during our 4 dives.
She would feedback all positives and areas of development in a constructive manner. She was friendly and casual in conversations so didn’t feel uncomfortable asking anything.
We also learnt a fair bit of the marine life including fish, corals, sponges, etc.

Everyone we interacted with was very professional and knew their stuff really well.
Really glad we chose DiveIndia (and Havelock) for our first dive experience.
Looking forward to more dives and completing our advanced dive certification as well with them..
Big Thanks to the team!

I completed my Open Water Course here at Dive India. For someone who always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, it was an absolute surreal and seamless experience to say the least. Dive India has a team of exceptional dive instructors and masters. From enrollment to the confined pool training which i did in Delhi itself to the open water dives in Havelock, my experience was absolutely seamless. They helped me throughout the way and made me feel a pafrt of the family. My friend Karan Bhatia who also is a Dive Instructor at Dive India really helped me along the way and i couldnt have asked for a better Dive Shop to begin my diving journey with. I would highly recommend anyone who either wants to learn diving (OWC or advanced or any other specialized course) or just simply fun diving. Dive India is the place for you in the Andamans. They also have tie ups with hotels/resorts to make your stay in the andamans even smoother.
This was my first diving experience and its safe to say it definitely won't be the last.

See you underwater :)

I Planned trip to Swaraj Dweep for a week diving during Feb 2022. I approached them for fun dive and they agreed to that after the refresh dive as my last dive was 2 years back and i happily agreed to go for refresh dive at 3.5 Plus tax. Paid advance of 2k. the dive master allotted to me Some Rex (not sure name of that lady) was good and did shore dive at Namo beach. THe dive site was not at all good no corals filled with sand There was a sunken Jeep that s the attraction. After returning to dive shop asked me to pay remaining amount which I paid. When asked when was next dive, the bluntly told that there was no dives planned for Open Water certified person and ask me to lookout for other dive shops.
This really upset me as I was not expected such treatment in Indian shop. Out side even for solo diver they take and dive.
This attitude has to change but I felt all dive shops in andaman are flooded with DSD and they cannot cater to certified divers unless they are in large numbers.
sorry state of affaires.
