We live a half an hour east of the Pennyroyal Opera House in Wheeling, WV. It is right at the end of the Fairview, Ohio exit of Interstate 70 making it easily accessible not only to bluegrass fans, but bluegrass entertainers as well. Because of this, Pennyroyal schedules many big name groups for the Friday night shows that are traveling 70 to their Saturday night destinations. So you get great entertainment at half the cost of other bluegrass venues. They also have a kitchen which opens two hours prior to the opening band with simple fare and awesome homemade desserts. Show tickets are $12 and an average dinner cost $6. Unlike many big venues, the performers mingle with the crowd in the dining room and at their merchandise tables. We have meant many nice people and always enjoy the show.

Small but intimate venue. Great hospitality and Great music! There's a little kitchen in the basement serving up some tasty homemade food before the music begins. And when I say homemade I mean homemade. The cooks are right there and are some of the sweetest ladies.

Love the venue, people, and overall experience! I continue to go again and again and enjoy Everytime. However, I typically have to spend 45 minutes on average trying to find any schedule of events. Always very frustrating.

Come for the show and enjoy an awesome home cooked meal prior! Not a huge venue, so you really feel that the performers are there for you, not the crowd! We loved the show, location, staff, etc.

kitchen opens early with some delicious selections. Tonight was an excellent rhubarb pie. There are two acts each Friday night during the season. Tonight was brother Randall followed by the Price Sisters- both toe-tappin’ good.

This nationally popular place is located along I-70 in the small town of Fairview. But there's nothing small about the entertainment that stops by to play. If you like bluegrass, you'll love a visit to Pennyroyal Opera House.
