About
School House Winery is a boutique winery located in a renovated one-room schoolhouse originally built in 1886. This historic site has become the perfect location for our winery. Stop by and enjoy our relaxing setting and try our award winning wines. We have a light menu consisting of pizzas, subs, and local cheeses, so plan on a picnic by the our pond while enjoying our wine. We are conveniently located off of I77 exit 85, just outside of Zoar Village and on the outskirts of Amish Country. We are also close to the Canal Scenic Byway and the Towpath Trail. Stop by after a nice walk and join us for a refershing pitcher of sangria.

If you're putting off visiting this winery, like I have, I recommend you make time to visit! I visited for the first time tonight. We got the wine and pizza deal that they are offering during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pizza was amazing!! I got the Teacher's Pet wine, which is spectacular! I can't believe that I have been missing out all this time! I also got a Pomegranate wine, which I haven't tried yet. But I am sure it will be delicious as well!

Though the GPS didn't know where we were going, and we screeched into the parking lot- it was a great visit. My mother and I sampled 4 wines and had lunch. The lunch was prepared fresh and they accommodated our special request for it. The décor is set up like a school house (go figure!) and very quaint. The wines are good and there are very cute T-shirts as well. It was too cool to sit outside, but the deck area looked lovely too.

We drove two hours to check out this winery for the day and it was well worth it! The staff was amazingly kind, the property well kept and absolutely adorable, and the wine was delicious (and fair priced)! We left this winery to check out another nearby, and ended up returning to this one because we loved it so much. I highly recommend!!!

OK, I liked this and would of ranked it higher except for the layout. The place is a bit crowded for tastings. The bathrooms were clean but only one each for male and female. The wine menu was in my opinion a bit hard to follow. They only had a couple people tasting and there was a large group there as well as my group of 5 and others waiting. The decor is nicely done. Parking is tight. Get there early if you are staying. They take reservations.

We're glad you stopped! While we try to serve as many people as possible at the tasting bar, some days the crowds are just overwhelming, especially weekends. We have two Handicap accessible restrooms and not sure how many more we could fit into our one room school house. We do have rear parking for at least 40 vehicles, if it was tight parking and very crowded inside you must have visited on a weekend or band night, stop out sometime during the week when we are not so packed.

Beautifully restored! Very neat and clean. Nice variety of pretty good wines. Try the jello (wine) shots! Welcome to bring your own food or order off of their menu (we bring our own). Been there twice and will return. Just darling! Very unique. A little small but quite cozy. The server is a gem too.

Being a teacher, I had to stop by on our way home from Amish country. I absolutely loved it! The inside was very cozy and the wines all had clever school themed names. The people there were very friendly. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had a long ride home. I hope to get back soon. I highly recommend!

I love the restored one room school house.
Very clean, friendly environment. Large selection of wine to choose from. Plenty of outdoor seating to relax by the pond. We always have a great time.

This is a very comfortable place to visit. The people are very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a great outdoor area, but we have not experienced it yet. Food is good. The wine is good.
