My wife and I enjoyed a sunny morning walk through the Historic Roscoe Village in Coshocton. Several of the shops are part of a living historical tour - we didn't participate in the tour. The shops are quaint. The market store was of greatest value as it had tasty pumpkin bars that we purchased, as well as locally-made horseradish to pair with the chuck roast we had in the crockpot at our rental log cabin nearby.

Nice weekend getaway for me and my hubby. We did the combo tour which provided us 5 crafts of the period time each. My husband made a mini broom, we both did tin punching, I did a leather bookmark and he did a leather bracelet, we brought home tins for our grandkids and kwilling plus 1 more broom. It was nice that they had kits for us to take home. They had a couple folks who did talks and other buildings had kiosks to explain what buildings were. This is a great family activity and not expensive.

We stopped in January and found many of the shops closed or opened late. We still walked the streets checking out the architecture and lovely old homes from the early 1800's. There were several shops that were opened and were happy to see some shoppers. We dined at The Warehouse on one end of the street and had a fantastic time while in the village.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Historic Roscoe Village! Visitors can move through the buildings at their own pace; displays are informative and interesting; and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. We recommend a visit to people of all ages, especially families with children.

We have always wanted to come to Historic Roscoe Village and finally did today!
Since it was a last minute decision we had no idea that the Apple Butter festival was going on this weekend.
WAY way too many people to be able to take our time and learn the history of this location. We can’t wait to try it again someday.
Various vendors and visitors filled the street directly in front of the village buildings.

Nicely done restored historic village. Staff is helpful and friendly. Price is reasonable. Several restored buildings include a working blacksmith. Recreated one room school house. Several stores and a couple of restaurants. Please note the restaurants get very busy at meal times. We actually couldn’t get seated.

The Interpreters were all very friendly and very knowledgeable about their craft and the time period. The buildings and grounds were very well kept. The plants and flowers were beautiful. We also very much enjoyed the canal boat ride. The interpreter did a very good job of explaining the history of Ohios canal system.

It was a lovely day when we went to Roscoe Village. We weren't interested in looking at the shopping or the "craftsmen" at work so we just walked. To the left of the visitors' center is a large park with a nice hike/bike trail, a large soccer field and places to explore. One of the locks (Ohio & Erie Canal) had been drained and had hostas and grass added. Getting out I needed a little help, lol - but you need to be able-bodied because you have to climb the giant remnants (large stones) to get in and out. We walked to the Canal Barge area but it was closed for some reason. The shops looked really cute - and the historic homes were well marked.

Went there during the Stay Safe Ohio order and a majority of the places were closed. However it’s a cool historical village to walk through. My daughter got a kick out of seeing the window display of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp at the local pet store.

It’s about 1 hour drive from Columbus so its a definitely a good day trip from Central Ohio.

Definitely will return when the state is finally reopened.

We had a few days to spend on vacation and we chose this location. Lots of places to visit within walking distance of our accommodations. The tour was reasonably priced and very informative. Staff was very nice. Due to Covid, confirm hours before making reservations.
