Skyline View of Columbus & Whimsical Elephant Fountain
Mar 2021
We went here on a weekend in March, and it was super busy. Lots of people exercising (walking, running, stretching, etc) and lots of people with dogs. The parking lot was almost completely full. There's a decent view of the skyline of Columbus, Ohio. It's located near downtown, so it's busy and more traffic than I'm used to. There are benches around the pond to sit on. There is also a gazebo. One of my favorite things about the park is a giant cake like fountain in the middle with two elephants sitting on top.

Spring, Summer, Fall and reasonable winter days Goodale Park is a charming treat. Home of Comfest during the summer, it is an easy place to hangout

Park close to the action yet quiet and relaxing
Nov 2019 • Friends
Goodale park is located in the short north on the edge of downtown. This is a nice older park small in size, about 2 blocks by 1 block. Has a nice pond with an elephant water fountain. In the winter when it freezes over the neighborhood ice skates on it. It has swings and other recreation equipment for the younger crowd. There is an enclosed shelter house that various community groups use for meetings. A gazebo next to the pond where many weddings are held during the summer. There are also several festivals that take place in the park and some of them close off the streets on 2 sides of the park to allow more vendors for their events. The park is in a residential area but one east is a short north business community with several stores and restaurants. The park is also used as a starting point for different parades. The park is maintained by the city Parks and Recreation and by the Friends of Goodale Park which is a citizen community group. There are many big old trees to provide shade in summer. The park is 1 block from the Greater Columbus Convention Center and 2 blocks from the Nationwide Arena. If your interested in finding a quiet spot close to the action Goodale Park might be the place go, except when they have events.

Beautiful park. Also the site of Comfest…….
Jul 2019 • Couples
Goodale is beautiful. Lots of green space. Gazebo’s, statues, monuments, ponds with fountains. Ducks, squirrel’s and other critter. It’s in downtown Columbus right by an interstate highway, but doesn’t feel that way at all.

For one long freaky fun weekend it’s also the site of Comfest (used to be Community Festival but that got shortened over the years). A huge collection of free thinkers, multiple stages of music, food, beer, wine and the best people watching ever! Lots of tie-dye shirts, tons of arts and crafts tents, often topless women (usually the ones you don’t want to see topless….). It’s a great time with a fantastic friendly community vibe.

Even when it’s not Comfest weekend it’s worth a visit. You’ll probably make friends with a couple dogs!

good place for a morning walk
May 2019
I was in town a couple days for business and in need of a place for my morning walk. This park was about a half mile from the Hyatt, and by circling the perimeter and crisscrossing various paths within I was able to get an easy 2-3 mile walk (counting to and from the hotel). There was plenty of open space, a pond, a gazebo, two play areas for children, and he park appeared to be well-maintained. Not bad for a downtown neighborhood park.

Central Park Vibes
Jul 2018 • Family
Goodale Park is absolutely beautiful. You'll find couples old and young walking around, people playing with their pets, or children running around playing games. It really is a nice spot for people of all ages. Every time I've been I've never seen any trash laying around, and it's pretty peaceful.

Beautiful park

My top two favorite parks, Central park in NY and this one in CBus. I might be biased though as I lived here for 5 years.

Location of Columbus' very own ComFest. Best festival in columbus
Jun 2018 • Family
Goodale Park is a very large park located near downtown Columbus. It hosts ComFest every year which is a 3 day community festival with music, great food and a huge bazaar. Always fun to go people watching and rock out with some great local bands.
