We walked around & through this park to admire surrounding large brick homes. The park is clean, lush & colorful with many benches. There was a lake with ducks and a 5 tiered fountain with a pair of elephants spouting water.

This was a lovely park with some statuary including a whimsical elephant fountain in the pond. There was ample parking, and the neighborhood surrounding the park is a great place for a walk. There were adorable baby ducks in the pond. I would love to return.

Goodale park is located in the short north on the edge of downtown. This is a nice older park small in size, about 2 blocks by 1 block. Has a nice pond with an elephant water fountain. In the winter when it freezes over the neighborhood ice skates on it. It has swings and other recreation equipment for the younger crowd. There is an enclosed shelter house that various community groups use for meetings. A gazebo next to the pond where many weddings are held during the summer. There are also several festivals that take place in the park and some of them close off the streets on 2 sides of the park to allow more vendors for their events. The park is in a residential area but one east is a short north business community with several stores and restaurants. The park is also used as a starting point for different parades. The park is maintained by the city Parks and Recreation and by the Friends of Goodale Park which is a citizen community group. There are many big old trees to provide shade in summer. The park is 1 block from the Greater Columbus Convention Center and 2 blocks from the Nationwide Arena. If your interested in finding a quiet spot close to the action Goodale Park might be the place go, except when they have events.

In just a short walk from High Street, one feels transported back in time in the best way possible. The park area is picturesque, wide open, and gives the feel of being attached to a lot of history and community, back when they were more revered. The care and pride that goes into the maintenance and upkeep of this park is evident. The neighborhood's historic buildings and architecture pair nicely. It's a great place to get lost in thought, wander aimlessly, and ponder the meaning of a looser schedule. The elephant fountains, which grace the man-made ponds, could be gaudy in any other setting, yet somehow fit beautifully with the gazebo, the horticulture and the flow of the park's ambience. To be sure, a lot of thought was given.

We went here on a weekend in March, and it was super busy. Lots of people exercising (walking, running, stretching, etc) and lots of people with dogs. The parking lot was almost completely full. There's a decent view of the skyline of Columbus, Ohio. It's located near downtown, so it's busy and more traffic than I'm used to. There are benches around the pond to sit on. There is also a gazebo. One of my favorite things about the park is a giant cake like fountain in the middle with two elephants sitting on top.

This is a lovely park surrounded by some pretty old houses and within walking distance of both High Street shopping and North Market. It's easy to park here for free and walk to those. Don't miss the pretty elephant fountain in the pond. There are several playground areas and this is also the perfect place to walk a dog.

The park, quite large, is just off High Street in downtown. Plenty of walking paths, a pond, trees... A nice place to relax and unwind.
Tons of ducks in the pond. And believe it or not, three or four very rare white squirrels, back near the playground!

Goodale Park is absolutely beautiful. You'll find couples old and young walking around, people playing with their pets, or children running around playing games. It really is a nice spot for people of all ages. Every time I've been I've never seen any trash laying around, and it's pretty peaceful.

This is my favorite outdoor spot in Columbus. I consider it my own backyard as I'm an Arena District resident with no private green- space. It's a mellow spot to walk the dog, take a nap, enjoy the magnificent magnolia trees when they are in bloom, shoot the breeze with some neighbors, or make a new friend. Over the years Goodale Park has become a real community for a diverse group of people living in the area, and it's a great way to experience the vibe of Columbus. I recommend grabbing some food at the North Market and heading over for a picnic on a lazy afternoon. People are out and about in the park every day of the year, doing their thing. Joggers and dogs welcome.

Where can I park very close to the park?

You may park in the park in one of the spaces by the recreation center. You can't get much closer than that. If the lot is full you are allowed to parallel park on Park Street along the east edge of the park or in a space on GoodaleStreet which forms the southern boundary of the park. Enjoy your visit!
