Pretty cool to see a life sized statue of Schwarzenegger from his bodybuilding pre-Hollywood days. I know he was Mr. Universe a few times. Some of those contests must have been here in Columbus. That's just a guess. Definitely worth a look and Schwarzenegger fans...More

Statue in front of the convention center. 8-foot-tall, bronze statue of the muscular Arnie in his prime time. Commemorates his Mr. World titles at the Columbus event in the 70‘s. There is still an Arnold Sports festival for body builders in Columbus every year.

We were just a few blocks away and decided to walk to see the statue. It was just a statue to me, but it showed a muscular version of him.

It's a normal statue made of what looks like bronze. It sits in front of the Columbus Convention Center.

It's now in front of the convention center on High Street. If you're in the neighborhood, you should definitely check it out. It really is kind of humorous, although that may not be intentional. I wondered why it's there, but saw that his namesake fencing...More

First of all, this is no longer at Veteran's Memorial, it is now in front of the Columbus Convention Center on High Street. Second of all, it is a statue of a body builder. Enough said.

The convention center is under section renovation. The section where the Arnold statue is normally located is under renovation and the statue is in storage until the beginning of 2017.

Ha! As weightlifters, the Arnold has a special place in our hearts. Hardly a session goes by without a "get into the choppa'" reference or speaking in a fake Austrian accent "I vant some vauter". So we went to the Veterans Auditorium. No Ah-hold statue....More
