Anyone can arrange a free tour of the Ohio Supreme Court building thrugh their Civic Education department and my friends and I highly recommend doing so. It is full of amazing art works- murals, mosaics, sculptures, carvings and even a Chihuly! Our guide Mason was very knowledgeable and friendly. He told us stories about the building and explained how the court works in addition to pointing our amazing details in the ceilings, hallways and library.

Thank you so much for the feedback, Ruth! We were so happy you found us and set up the tour for you and your friends. There is so much to see in this building that it feels like one tour is never enough!

The Supreme Court building is exquisite, and our tour guide was knowledge and demonstrated a love of the building and its history. If anyone wants to see something Ohio has done brilliantly and a perfect example of the Art Deco style, they should take this tour that was easy to arrange and smoothly executed. From parents who had some sense of history to our 10 year old daughter, who does not, we all learned a lot and enjoyed the tour very much.

A beautiful building full of important art work and the "workings" of all the people involved in the administration of the Supreme Court of Ohio. This is a "must see" and, as others have stated, this is completely free. Our guide was fully versed in the history of the building, the history of Ohio and the history of the Northwest Territories, as well as the art and the materials and design of the building. You will not regret taking advantage of exploring this place!

The Supreme Court Building looks like many other government buildings on the outside, but the interior houses a unique blend of fantastic art deco architecture and murals depicting the history of Ohio. It is not well known that tours of the building are free to the public and given by knowledgeable and passionate tour guides. It is a treasure that must be seen to be appreciated!

This is a beautiful building with an amazingly grand central hallway of green marble. Various rooms can be seen on two floors, one is very elaborate and the others have nice murals inside. The lower floor has an interesting "museum" with neat displays, and the bronze doored elevators are works of art. The security desk people were very friendly as well. It's free to go inside and well-worth a visit.

As first time visitors to the Ohio Supreme Court building, we impressed by the handcrafted details and murals in the court rooms. The educational center had important and sometimes odd court cases — like the case of the human cannon ball. The blend of beauty, history, humor made this a memorable visit. We had an amazing guide and we were grateful that the state makes this a free to all visitors. It’s definitely worth your time!

Thank you for helping us spread the word about this free and educational experience in downtown Columbus. We truly enjoy sharing the history, artwork, and workings of the Court with the public!

Everything about our trip was great, from scheduling our small group, to working with the eduction specialist, to exploring public areas of the building. The building contains so much history and art. No detail in the design of this building was overlooked. Our guide did an excellent job in hosting our group and answering all of our curious questions. At the end of our experience, our group of 5th graders were already planning our trips to come back and visit.

Thank you so much for visiting! There is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss during a tour of this building and our guides always appreciate curious questions! The tours can be geared towards art, history, Ohio's judiciary, or any combination of those and we do our best to appeal to the age group of the visitors. We hope to see you again!

Well, free except for parking in Business areas of Columbus is difficult. Magnificent building- incredible art and the tour guide is wonderful. I used to live in Columbus- how in the world did I miss this then? We spent more than two hours and they almost had to drag my wife and me out. It is what is meant by "MUST SEE". Museums don't have this wonderful art, architecture and history. You need to make time and go when in the area. In face make it the reason for the visit.
