Saw Dolly Parton 34 years ago at fair and went back specifically to see her again this year. Still a fun entertainer and worth the trip. Rest of the fair was just as enjoyable with good food, free shows and a large midway.

Ohio to me has one of the nicest State Fairs in the country. They have nice livestock barns, a midway that has a lot to choose from, good looking animals, as well as a Nature Center that includes bald eagles, kayaking, jet ski POV, shooting, archery, nature trails, fishing, and an amphitheater! I defiantly recommend the dairy barn ice cream... More

The state fair has something for everyone, and every one I know has different areas of the fair that are their favorites. I love to get an ice cream cone in the dairy area and then go to the place where the horse shows are, and just sit and watch the horse shows. I love seeing ALL the animals throughout... More

Plan on spending the whole day. This is definitely not a 2-3 hour visit. There is so much to see and do it would be impossible to list them all here. Of course the food is excellent, what else can you say about fair food. Absolutely worth the time and the price. A great tradition to attend every year.

Try new foods. Say no to everyone who wants you to join their mailing list. My expectations maybe should have been lower and I would have rated higher.

Also try the... More

My 8 year old and I had a wonderful time at the fair. We traveled a couple hours, but well worth the fun. The next day we headed to Zip Zone and continued a weekend of excitement in Columbus! Perhaps we will visit again next summer.....

We visited The Ohio State Fair on Saturday, August 6. 2016. It was very hot out that day. There was many types of food to eat, all kinds of free attractions and shows and rides if you wished to purchase tickets to ride. I believe The Ohio State Fair is the best in the Nation. Parking cost 5.00. It only... More

We took our family to the Ohio State Fair and had a great time. Always great people-watching and great comfort food. We have two teenagers and the rides were fun and it wasn't too crowded. Always a family favorite every year.
