lots to do and see

while this area is a bit calmed down on the weekends when there are no events, it still holds plenty of good restaurants and sites. Take a look in the area while in town

Great area to walk around in
May 2019
Lots of restaurants and bars in the area and a good place to stroll around and people watch. We were there on a Sunday and a lot of places don't open until the afternoon.

I’ve been here on a few occasions now and found it to be a really well laid out sports/concert venue. There are a number of good restaurants around the arena too.

We visited the arena district while in Columbus. Home to Nationwide Arena where the NHL Columbus Bluejackets play. It is an area full of restaurants.

John Legend Concert at Arena was AMAZING!
Aug 2019
We had the opportunity to experience the arena firsthand for our ASAE networking event! Bonus that it was a private John Legend concert. Great job!

We live in Columbus so we go down to the 3 day J+RF at least once a year. It’s in a beautiful setting. The main stage is in a park with lots of water fountains for the kids to play in. There must be 25-30 ribs vendors from all around the country. This year “Just North of Memphis” (Ummmm by about 600 miles  ) won best Ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Only thing they didn’t win was best beef brisket, “Pigtails” won that.

We specifically went to see the band The Huntertones. Three excellent horn guys that pick up backing bands where they play. They put on a great show. Go see them if you get the chance.

And yes, in the middle of July in Columbus it can be miserable. It was 93 the Friday we went. I felt sorry for the guys cooking over hot grills for about 13 hours straight!

Great area

If you are attending an event at the arena or convention center, and are from out of town, I highly recommend staying in a nearby hotel. It is so convenient to walk, and there are lots of great dining options. North Market is also an easy walk. Nice area, safe.

Lively and fun

If your grabbing dinner before a show or cocktails before the hockey game, you've got plenty of close by options. Book early as Columbus is growing and eateries fill fast.

Everything is here!

The Arena is a fantastic venue for sports, concerts and other things.

The surrounding area, referred to as the Arena District, is packed with many dining and drinking options covering all price ranges and tastes.

When big events are happening, it is AMAZING with energy and excitement. Something is there for everyone and it is THE PLACE TO BE!!

However, right now, when there is no event at the Arena, it’s pretty much empty. Over time, I think this will change as the area continues to grow.
