The Ohio Statehouse has a wonderfully touching memorial to the left and right of the main entrance. Lots of unique architecture inside. A definite must see for history and building buffs.

Did you know that you can walk right into Ohio's Statehouse (after security) and sign up for a free tour! They take you to see the governors office, the senate and house chambers as well as every section of the Statehouse. In the rotunda, they even show you were Abraham Lincoln lied in state on the ride back to Springfield,... More

My wife and I have visited 34 state Capitols - the Ohio Statehouse is an interesting statehouse. The building itself is very cool - very different from most statehouse buildings and worth a look just for this reason. One big plus - the Ohio Statehouse is open on Sunday afternoons - that is an awesome service to travelers and it... More

I have an office two blocks south of our Ohio Statehouse and enjoy walking around and through it on a regular basis. The building is about 150 years old and is at the center of downtown Columbus. The interior went through major renovations a while back and was restored to its original splendor. There are some major works of art... More

Had time to kill since we were nearby. What a lovely place. They have a wonderful museum and gift shop. The hourly tour was great (recommended since the building is a quite a bit of a maze (easy to get lost - hard to find your way around). The rotunda is beautiful. Glad they have restored so much of it.... More

The historic restoration completed a few years ago needs to be viewed by more people. The main floor is very impressive especially the artwork, and the lower level restoration and new options is very worthwhile to see.
