Beautiful building with Greek architectural design. Tours are free and very interesting. Guide Dave was knowledgeable about the history of the building and the Ohio government. There's also a gift shop and a small museum. If you're in the city and need something to do, it's worth checking out.

I did not visit the Statehouse directly but wandered the grounds. The grounds are well kept and contain many statues and plaques. I enjoyed reading about the people who were important in the development and history of Columbus and surrounding area.

Free guided tour is very good. The State House has been redone and has a very good small museum in the basement.

A lot of history here. Ohio became a state in 1803. Great venue to visit for families or couples. Enjoyable.

My wife and I visited as a quick stop on a longer trip, and the stop was well worth it. Not the most exciting tourist spot--but quit interesting. The statehouse was renovated in the late 1990s, and the work was done to preserve as much of the original building as possible. The original state house of 1861 was in a... More

We went there today on 12/28 to see the tree but it was already down. It's a little difficult to get yourself around the statehouse so I highly recommend taking a free tour.

We visited the state capitol yesterday. It was not one of the prettiest state capitol buildings we have ever visited as far as the architecture and aesthetics are concerned; however, the historical displays located there were actually very interesting. Quite a few notable dignitaries have also visited this statehouse. We were unable to get an actual tour of the entire... More

I collect visiting state capitol buildings. This experience was salvaged only because of a nice tour with a docent, just the two of us! I didn't gain that much history of Ohio. Some of the displays are old and amateurish. Parking was extremely difficult to find - even the high priced public garages were full on a nondescript weekday. The... More

Such a beautiful building with historic significance. The rotunda is spectacular, and all the marble is amazing. Great security, well maintained, art, and a wonderful gift shop. Just a amazing place.

We came by for a short stroll today. The parking deck seemed cavernous but the statehouse police helped us get to where we wanted to go -- outside on the grounds. Right between the parking deck and the metal detector entrance you can see rough-hewn rock emanating out of the wall -- it was rustically beautiful and certainly something I've... More
