We took the free tour on a Sunday. It was very informative and we learned about the history of state house and the history of the state. We went inside the Senate, The House of Representative, and the Supreme Court. It was a nice place to cool off and use the facility in a hot summer day.

The beautiful and historic Ohio Statehouse underwent a restoration and is a wonderful educational place to take your entire family. There are a number of large pieces of art, and a soaring rotunda to enjoy, besides seeing the area where President Lincoln laid in state after his assassination. The grounds include several large bronzes.

Interesting to see history and government at work. Would like to see more work that speeches but hey, that is modern gov't for you. I got a little turned around and the state trooper was very nice and helpful in pointing out correct direction I needed to go.

This was our fourth statehouse tour having previously done NJ, PA, and MD. This statehouse was truly fascinating with the best tour so far! One hour free tour with a knowledgable and friendly guide. The tour showed us the Senate and the House and then showed all the extensive construction and renovations it has been doing for a few years... More

The architecture of this building is awesome! Just walking the halls gives you a sense of all of the history that has been made in this building! What a wonderful experience it is to have the opportunity to tour the House and Senate chambers! Even the gift shop on the lower level is great! Many of the items are "Made... More

Visiting on a Sunday morning, only one door was open for foot traffic on the far end of the building grounds. The security guards were kind and humorous, but the maps were too small for me to actually find them useful. So many doors. I never knew if I should/ shouldn't be going where I going. The stained glass window... More

One of the more interesting things about the state capital is its age....it was built before electricity and thus takes great advantage of natural light. Several other notable architectural features as well. Good tour guides explain the history as well as the interesting features of the building. A small museum provides some Ohio historical information that adds even more to... More

First thing to say about the State House if that you almost pass it by! It is a large building but with no dome, looks like any other public building! The tour is like visiting with a friend. Knowledgeable & easy to talk to, you visit the public rooms & are given all the information you need to understand the... More

A great historic building with a great gift shop. Close to shops and restaurants. Wear your walking shoes as there is a lot to see. The tree at Christmas time is beautiful
