It seemed clean, and everyone was very nice. We also found that they have a dog beach. It is not marked well at all. You can't really find it from the parking lot, unless you're looking for it. It's on the west side of the beach. There is a sign pointing that direction, if you go all the way around the beach, but it doesn't have its own sign. You just have to figure it out by the dogs. :) We found all of the people and dogs to be nice. It was nice to have a place where the dog could swim.Visited October 2020Written October 14, 2020

On the east side you have the pier and the beach and on the west side you have the iconic Cleveland script sign with the skyline in the background. Beautiful grounds with plenty of places to set up a picnic or just let the kids play. This is a great place to take the family to be near Lake Erie and get good views of the city. I will take visitors here who are new to Ohio.Visited June 2022Traveled with familyWritten June 12, 2022
- Ellie BDelaware43 contributionsHuge park by the water and playgroundThis park was very big with lots of wide open spaces, walking trails, a pier, beaches, and a big playground for kids. We enjoyed the park with our toddler. The park had a big kid area and a toddler area. There were lots of ropes to climb up, a bridge, musical aspects, slides, and balance beams. The park was mostly wooden and very cool and interactive for kids.Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 26, 2023

This is a beautiful park to visit. We were there in the afternoon and it was clean and I felt safe there. We got pictures of the Cleveland script. The lake is breathtaking! We actually saw a girl walking a fox on a leash! There is a path to the beach by the shelter. You can walk the trail to get to the shelter or drive and park in the lot at the shelter. The shelter has a lot of birds flying around and lots of bird poop. I'm not sure I would eat there, but it does have a restroom.

The Edgewater park is a nice recreational area just a few minutes drive west of downtown Cleveland.
At the time of our visit there was plenty of parking (rainy and pretty cold April day). With very few visitors the park seemed quiet with great downtown panorama and Cleveland sign (there's also another one at the back of RnR Hall of Fame).
I suppose it's much more lively in good weather and summer.

Great place to dip your hand or toes in Lake Erie for a Great Lakes checklist. We walked down a pier for photos, strolled the concrete path for awhile, and watched families picnic in the expansive park area…all clean and safe and beautiful. Then, we drove around the curve to the west to see the Cleveland sign for totally unexpected city skyline views plus this other stellar surprise!

We went mid March, on a day when the ‘feels like’ temperature was only 11, so it was pretty cold for us. But it was still very beautiful to walk along the frozen trail and see some of nature’s ice sculptures. Ample free parking.

Good location, very nice, clean kid playing area. The beach area is good with rinse off station and restroom for changing, foods, except the water is not clean, it seem to have a lot of decomposed tiny stuff from tree, leaf or something not trash in the water
and wash up, not sure if this is year round condition or just during my visit in middle of July. It would be a wonderfull beach to swim, relax and play if the water is clean. Definitely not good when accidentally swallow the water.

We visited in late October, so didn't get to experience the park in nice, warm weather. Even so, we were very impressed with the beach area, the walking trails, and the really cool overlook/photo up with the "Cleveland" sign. A really nice park, and a must-see if you visit Cleveland.

This is an excellent park, with thousands of feet of Lake Erie shoreline. It has great views of the skyline, a large swimming beach, and a pier. We drove through the park and were impressed! It's worth a visit, and would make a good picnic spot!

Edgewater Park and Beach is located on Whiskey Island Drive near West 73rd Street, just west of Cleveland. Beautiful park along Lake Erie. Park includes a wonderful circular walk (about 3 miles), a Marina and Yacht Club, large family friendly beach with lifeguard, separate dog friendly beach, more than one playground and picnic areas , numerous picnic tables and benches throughout the Park. Not certain, but they may rent kayaks. The Park is well maintained and very clean and there is a large free parking lot near the beach and many free parking lots at various places around the Park. Thoroughly enjoyed a stroll around the Park. Will definitely revisit when again in Cleveland. Recommend.

We came to visit from NY. We started at the script sign to take a picture. Then we found a shady spot to eat a packed lunch and the kids played in the playground. It was a very fun playground and the kids loved it. We then went swimming at the beach. Great and long day and it was all free!

Decided to go to Edgewater Beach as I've never seen Lake Erie and wanted to stick a toe in the water. It was difficult figuring out how to get there as Google maps was not giving me an accurate place to turn. Then got stopped at numerous red lights and the one way streets were making me crazy.
First got to the westernmost part of the beach area on Upper Edgewater Drive (which the map says is Lower West parking) and took some photos. It was a nice overlook, but as far as I could tell there was no access to the beach to the west there. I only saw a road going east that said it was going to a dog beach. No thanks. Dogs ruin everything.
Got back in the car and drove further east. Found the Cleveland sign and took more pics but wasn’t comfortable doing much else in that spot because it looked like a drug dealer was hanging out there.
Drove to the end of the road and it only took me to that stupid dog beach. Thankfully no dogs. It was a rainy day. However, the path to the beach was down a steep hill with steps and it was still hot and incredibly muggy. Funny how the nasty dog beach is right next to a smelly sewer. Other than that, once you get past the sewer it was a nice beach. Never figured out how to drive to the eastern side of the park.

How far of a distance is the parking lot to the beach area? I am coming alone with two little ones and will be lugging all our beach items and want to be prepared.

Not far if you get there early. It does have a large parking lot so parking isn't a problem if you park on the beach level of the park. Also there is a sidewalk that wraps around the beach and goes to the upper part of the park. There are plenty of picnic tables and shade trees there. BUT I wouldn't walk it with small children and equipment. I hope this answers your question. Have a great day at the beach.

The parking is really close to the beach. Hardly 100 - 150 footsteps away from the beach.

Does the park have oversize parking spot? We will be in 26-foot truck with trailer and we want to stop by for a picnic. Thank you.

The answer from Donovan C above is good. Here is a phone # for Edgewater Park 216-635-3200. You cannot park the trailer overnight, but can park till aftersunset.
Do note, there is continuing construction going on around the area, but with patience you can get there and enjoy the lake and surrounding grounds.

I'm not sure as I've not been to the new pavilion yet.
I read you can reserve a cabana - how much is that and can you pre-reserve?
