We participated in Tremont food Tour. Ann was very knowledgeable, provided a lot of historical details and background information mixed with fun trivia. Her experience clearly showed. She explained a few ground rules, kept us on schedule without rushing. The restaurant choices were excellent. It appeared that she has a good working relationship with the restaurant owners as she was warmly welcomed. The restaurant owners also made an effort to greet the group and answer questions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Fallon as our guide. It was a fascinating look into the history of the Tremont district and the people who had made their homes their over the years. We also had a wonderful selection of food tastings giving us a great insight into the variety of dining options in the district. And the food tasting amounts were just the right size to enjoy without feeling uncomfortable. We enjoyed chicken and waffles, tempura and potstickers, Thai curry, and ice cream. We came away with a better appreciation of the area and lots of great places to return to on our next visit to Cleveland.
My only wish was that I would have been able to try some of the Polish or Ukrainian food that was once such a key part of the community. But that's just another reason to return to Tremont!

We really enjoyed this tour of Cleveland's Little Italy with our guide Julie, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned the history of the area, including the churches and schools that serviced thew neighborhood. One stop was to the Murray Hill Market where we listened to stories told by the store's chef while we dined on snacks. Another was to La Dolce Vita, where we sampled more delicious food. Maxi's provided the best calamari on earth, and Corbo's Bakery showed us how cookies were meant to be. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who likes history, food, or just a great time in general. Each establishment was ready and waiting to welcome our group. On-street parking was a snap, the food was plentiful and varied, the content was extremely interesting, and the tour was very well-planned. You'll come away thinking that the tour reservation price was low based on the excellent value.

I had taken the Tremont Food tour several years ago with the same company and it was an amazing
experience. The guide was from the area, very personable and had a lot of great stories This time, I took my BF to Tremont/Cleveland for his 50th birthday celebration in hopes of having a similar experience. The food was great and all of the hosts were friendly however, the guide (Steven) was a disappointment. He was pleasant enough but had to use index cards as reference for the tour and I believe he has been with the company more than a year. He glossed over a lot of the highlights and at one point, someone in the tour that was from the area was giving HIM information. We had some nice ladies that were not wearing appropriate shoes for a walking tour but the group was small and we didn't mind the pace. Steven stayed up front with a husband and wife couple with no regard for the others in the group. We got the impression that he really wasn't interested in being a tour guide that day but he made sure to remind up that tips were appreciated. Before you book the tour, you may want to ask who the guide is for that day.
Good tour, great food selection and a wonderful neighborhood.

It is as advertised. Learn a bit about the market and get some food along the way.

Not a ton of “meal” stuff but enough to fill you up for a lunch.

We had juice, falafel, cheese, apple fritter, jerky, olives, salsa, mustard, candy, fresh vegetables and yogurt. (I might have forgot one)

We did go back and buy a few things at the places we visited so it must work well for the vendors to participate.

The cheese lady sure did talk.

It did feel very busy. I wasn’t always able to hear our guide. That wasn’t make or break, there is enough around to look at and take in but it did make it awkward at times.

The 40 ish bucks is a fair price for this tour and if you know someone in the area it would make a nice gift.

As with most Clevelanders, we're familiar with the many landmarks throughout the city, but rarely take the time to really slow down and enjoy them. The West Side Market Food Tour was intended to do just that. We have visited many times, but typically on a busy Saturday with specific food stalls in mind and with somewhat of a "get in-get out" mentality.

We started our tour outside the Market with a friendly welcome by our guide, Michele. She explained a little about the history of the Market and a bit about the architecture. Just when the delicious aromas from the street were making us salivate (we ate a very light breakfast in anticipation for all the food samples), we headed inside.

This began the real highlight of the tour - the many stops at various vendors to not only sample foods, but also learn a little about the history of some vendors, many businesses that have been in the family for generations. Michele kindly introduced me and my husband to each vendor. While we sampled everything from a refreshing jicama, mango & cactus salad to a freshly squeezed juice blend, she would share information about the product or vendor's history and in many cases, carry on an engaging conversation with the vendor where we learned even more. If you book a tour, you'll really luck out if you get Michele as your guide because she also happens to have a background in the culinary arts. So, not only did we sample all these delicious foods, we also gained tips throughout the tour about how to use various ingredients.

Whether you're a local like us, or visiting from out of town, I highly recommend the West Side Market Food Tour!

A few tips:

- Come hungry - we visited over a dozen vendors!

- Bring your camera - you can get a great aerial shot of the entire market from the balcony.

- Wear comfy shoes - you'll be on your feet and from time to time will have to quickly shuffle out of the way (for example, to let a butcher through with a meat cart!)

- Bring extra cash - though many vendors take credit card, there are some that only take cash. You'll want to explore the market and revisit vendors after the tour!

- Don't forget to tip your guide!

I worked with Mallory who organized a fantastic corporate holiday event for us in Tremont. We were greeted with welcome shots and stuffed cabbage at Prosperity Social Club. Our next stop was Southside but along the way, our guide told us a lot about the Tremont area which we didn't know about already, all of us having lived in the Cleveland area for quite some time. We had mushroom pizza, calamari, and chicken wings at Southside followed by spicy butternut squash soup and salmon at Press Wine Bar. We played a Cleveland inspired trivia game at the table, where the top team was awarded lottery tickets. Our final stop was Treehouse where we ate our dessert from the Cookie & the Cupcake. Each stop included one drink and we were impressed with the variety of options because it was hardly limited. They also did a great job with some of the dietary requests we asked for - it was taken care of and appreciated. If you are looking to do a fun, interactive event, that requires thinking outside of the box, I definitely recommend planning with Cleveland Food Tours.

The two-hour tour of the Market was excellent! Our guide, Kathy, clearly was passionate about her work and gave us a lot of information we did not previously know. The participating vendors were gracious and shared their knowledge of their products, as well as a wonderful sample of their products, and again, we learned a lot we did not already know. We highly recommend this to anyone, even if you have lived in Cleveland a long time.
