The metro parks are spread out among several suburbs of Cleveland. There are deer, fox and other animals roaming about. The parks are great for hiking, walking, picnics and more. Fall is my favorite with the colorful leaves and cooler weather but other seasons are very enjoyable as well.

Pick any one of them and go for a walk or a hike. The newest one, Acacia, is on a former golf course of a country club and has paved trails through the naturalized course. There are a few hills but it's mostly flat. Brecksville has many trails to choose from and a nature center. You can pick up a... More

The Cleveland Metroparks is a collection of parks scattered across northeast Ohio. They are clean and well maintained while each one offers something unique. Hinckley Reservation is our family favorite seemingly transporting you to another place. It's covered in enormous boulders and ledges creating a climber's dream! Our boys, 3 and 6, absolutely love going here to explore! There's also... More

Known as the Emerald Necklace, the Cleveland Metroparks holds true to its name as a beautiful necklace of nature. There are many areas to discover within the Metroparks such as the Cleveland Zoo, Nature Centers in all directions, Toboggan chutes, Golfing and the list goes on and on. There are many activities year round that you can locate on their... More

We go to our parks all year round no matter if they are across town or in the neighborhood. Any time whether morning or afternoon you get to walk and enjoy nature and fresh air. Some have little buildings you can sit in with a window showing beautiful birds and other wildlife that come to eat! . Some have safe... More

Hiking, paved bike paths, picnic pavilions and more. Runs through many suburbs around Cleveland. Most places are not crowded, due to its size. Try the old castle on the far East Side, the boat docks in Lakewood, and the Toboggan Run in Strongsville.

It is very large, but you can walk and there are trams to take you to the different areas of the zoo. Nice gift show and a lot of places to eat there or get cold drinks, ice cream, icees, etc.

We attended a car event that met in the parking lot at the Emerald Necklace and we were one of over 250 cars that cruised through this area of the Metroparks. Beautiful during this fall trip and will definitely go back!

There is much to to withing the Emerald Necklace and the Metroparks. Fields, forests lakes and rivers. Hiking, biking, birding. I'm proud to call it my backyard.

I've lived in a lot of metro areas, and Cleveland's park system is simply the best. Nature friendly, and very bike accessible, there is something for everyone in the Metroparks.

Thank Shane S
