Went to see 1917 after finding out that they were showing the film.

What a great place to see a movie! First you get entertained by one of the few remaining Kilgen organs and the only one in it's original setting! Great to hear some of the music it creates.

Movie was great and seeing it on a HUGE screen with a great sound system was a treat, Nice surroundings, not crowded, reasonably priced and had all of the amenities of any theater without the inflated costs!

When you enter the theater it is like sitting in a Spanish style country side with the architecture. You look up to be surprised to see a sky filled with stars (lit up by little lights) and clouds. It makes you think that you're really going back in time to sit in a theater that is about more than just the screen in front of you! I remember going as a high-school student years ago and they would have an organ that would lift out of the orchestra pit and play music before the show (3 or 4 tiered organ that is rare). Didn't seem "cool" at the time, but now it leaves great memories. If you want to take your family to see a movie from a new perspective, nothing like your average movie experience...this is the place to go! It really makes you think about the history of this city and how going to the movies should be experienced.

I bought tickets for a show that was subsequently canceled by the venue. They only refunded the ticket price and not the ticket fees. This is wrong. This was the first time booking a show here and it will be the last. I lost almost $12.00 on a show I never saw. Nasty! When I called to complain they were very unsympathetic...they just plain didn't care.

It's a nice, small venue that seems to be maintained well. The seats were comfortable. The ladies' room was fairly clean, but I was told that someone had vomited on the floor of the men's room and it hadn't been cleaned up - and this was well before the concert even started. We were in the fourth row and were much closer to the stage that I expected from viewing the seating chart. I was pleasantly surprised that our seats were as good as they were. The lighting was good and the sound system decent, but at least initially, the vocals were too low and difficult to hear over the music. That may have been a problem with whoever was running sound for the opening band. Whoever did the sound for Loverboy fixed the issue pretty quickly and balanced the music with the vocals properly. The problems we encountered were first, with the "bar". It's a portable type bar set up, badly located across the hall from the entrance to the ladies' room. Between the women entering and leaving the restroom and the people standing in line to purchase drinks, it was badly congested and difficult to maneuver. The bar offered only a couple of types of beer, a couple of types of wine, and a couple of flavors of unfrozen margaritas. The alcohol was overpriced, and the margarita I ordered was pretty weak. The second problem was with crowd control. During the concert, people from the much cheaper seats made their way down the aisle and eventually, the aisle was full of people. Security did not remove them. It was an extremely unsafe situation because had there been a fire or other emergency, people would not have been able to escape, due to the fact that the aisle was literally packed full of people who were not in their seats. All security did to address the problem was to make sure no one came closer to the stage than the front row seats. This situation was also unfair to those of us who spent more money for the better seats. It was quite upsetting that security did not send people back to their seats. Overall, it was a great concert and we had a good time, but we were pretty annoyed by the crowd control problem.

Went to see Vicki Lawrence this past summer. Charming theater but I struggled to hear. The audio was terrible.

We are sorry to hear that you had a less than stellar experience, but the good news is that our sound system has been upgraded to an HD system, and more speakers have been added throughout the theatre. We hope to see you back in the theatre soon for a better experience!

The volunteers and staff do a great job keeping the old girl going. Remember you are going to an OLD theater so with that in mind you will have a wonderful time. Looking for something up to date, keep looking!

What a beautiful old theater that apparently was saved from the wrecking ball. Thank God 🙏 it was because this was the coolest venue. My wife found a great show upcoming do we decided to make a night of it. After arriving at the hotel we booked a couple blocks from the venue we found that the NFL bought it and closed it down for renovations. Not a great way to start the trip. After securing another 🏨 room we Uber to a restaurant a couple blocks from the theater. By now the night staters to set in as we walked to the theater. There illuminating the night sky was the coolest old sign with the words "Palace" on it. As you enter it takes you back in time to another era when the theater was the only way to see your favorite movies. We walked around in amazement at the details throughout the entire theater. From the balconies to the main floor level there wasn't a bad seat in the 🏠. Our seats were 4 rows from the front directly in the center, amazing.

The show was Box Skaggs who played for 2 hours and the sound was truly spectacular. What a thrilling evening that we won't be able to forget. We have made it a habit now to look for concerts at the Palace. Just and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Pittsburgh it is well worth the drive.

We were visiting Canton in early April 2019 and by chance noticed The Canton Palace Theatre had a silent Buster Keaton movie playing and it was a wonderful experience. The setting, atmosphere, organ accompaniment - we love new experiences and this was delightful. People of all ages were there and we were thrilled to have had the chance to see the theatre and the movie. Yayyy!

For a place that solicits donations to sustain its business this place has terrible customer service. We went for an event and asked to pay to improve our seats and were told no without any offer of options to satisfy or improve our seating situation. Pretty sad for a business who says they need money to sustain itself. Common sense people.

Thank you for your comment. The majority of the concerts at the Palace are not Palace productions. There is an outside promoter that has rented the Theatre. The Canton Palace Theatre is the venue for the performance. At the concert you attended there was no option to upgrade to the sponsor/reserved seating areas and those sponsorships had been solicited by the promoter in advance and the seats were allocated based on the sponsorship. We hope you enjoyed the show and look forward to seeing you soon.
