Mill Creek Park is the most beautiful "city" park in the world. It has something for every person...solitude, lively areas, winding forest roads, dog walks, family friendly activities, paddle-boats and kayaks, old structures, a working mill, a covered bridge, rose-tree-flower gardens with outstanding views, fountains, playgrounds, museums, concerts, herb and shade gardens, some areas closed to cars, surprise glimpses of turkey... My childhood was spent on the bridle paths, and it is easy to get lost on the winding roads, but it is a fabulous park if you have kids and want to paddle on a little lake or just tromp the trails or commune with nature and picnic. I suggest the Old Mill and waterfalls and trails around it and... More

Interesting place to visit. The water fall, the covered bridge and explanation of the old mill was terrific.

Mill Creek Park was established in 1891 by Volney Rogers! He had the vision to preserve this beautiful city park from development and it has been a hidden gem to nonYoungstowners but a known gem to those growing up in Mahoning County. It has expanded from the over 2800 acres of the original park to 4400 acres at present. Picnicking,... More

What a pleasant surprise! I spent the weekend in Youngstown and was looking for something to do in between my scheduled events. I Googled "things to do in Youngstown" and Mill Creek was the #1 item. I found The Park clean and inviting. This is a "must see" for outdoor nature lovers.

This is one of the most beautiful city parks I have ever seen. If you are visiting the Youngstown area, take time to visit. Don't miss the Education/Visitors Center (you can even have lunch there) and historical landmarks throughout. Not a quick, drive-through park (although better than nothing if that is all you have time for). This is a must-see... More

So much to see do and experience in the second largest metropolitan park in the country. If you live in the area shame on you if you don't take advantage of our treasure.

This park is a must see if your in the Youngstown area. It has several waterfalls, lanterns mill, a covered bridge and plenty of walking/biking/running trails. Several pretty bridges . Huge!

My rating is based on the MetroPark Bike Trail starting in Canfield, going all the way into Niles. A rails to trails conversion, the trail is relatively flat. Also, on a hot day, the majority (more than 70%, I would say) is shaded. There are parts that get busy, but a bike bell or 'passing on your left' should suffice... More
