Most of the sites are close to each other as all state parks. If you are lucky to get on a dead end row the sites are better but have drop offs that are hard when you step out onto a drop from your camper door, very little black top space around edges of camper.

We visited the Sugartree Marina at Salt Fork State Park for 3 hours of pontoon boating and tubing. The park looked to be well maintained as well as the marina. We rented the boat which cost almost $400 for 3 hours. While we had lots of fun, this definitely was a very expensive activity. Also, the food at the concession... More

Largest state park in Ohio. Huge lake that is perfect for boaters of all type. Very popular with local fishermen. The Kennedy Stone House has local history exhibits. Lots of hiking trails through the woods and along the lake. Sandy beach, miniature golf, horse riding trails, archery range. Well maintained and challenging golf course. The lodge is beautiful and has... More

Trip was fun for the family. I would not recommend the lodge where we stayed as it was very old and not very clean. The restaurant in the lodge had good portions for kids and adults but pricy and service was horrible the two times we went. We did the boat rental on the lake for the day, which was... More

We went to Salt Fork last fall and had a great time. We stayed in the lodge and ate several meals there. Overall the food was good. We kayaked a secluded section of the lake and it was beautiful! We also hiked to the cave and enjoyed it too. The golf course is pretty hilly but overall makes for a... More

This is a place, if you want to be out of the Fast Lane, It's so calm and quiet. Just a dip in the pool, or go fishing, or camping. Total Relaxation.

Salt Fork State Park has it all; hiking, camping, 2,952 acre lake with winding passages, boat rental, archery range, golf, lodge, beach, 10 boat launches, fishing, and many wildlife viewing opportunities. I'm sure I missed something here, but Salt Fork offers the best of any other state park on a large scale. I enjoyed two days of kayaking (on a... More

We go to Salt Fork for hiking and birding. Our favorite trails are Pine Crest and Morgan's Knob (trail heads across from golf course). Pine Crest eventually follows the lakeside, and is very picturesque. Huge boulders abound, making for a very interesting landscape and photo opportunities. For birding, make sure to pull into the office and drive all the way... More

We stayed at the campground over the past weekend it was pretty average the shower houses were clean and the campsite also. But if you plan to stay up after 10pm with friends and a fire I do not recommend. The camp host called the park ranger on us around 12:00. He just informed us that there is a lights... More

This beach is beautiful, not to crowded and easy to find. We arrived before noon and found the beach was clean with decent facilities available. I would recommend this lake for families of all ages and size. There is plenty of parking and just a short walk to the beach. Looked like plenty of picnic spots with in addition to... More
