Nice area but worse place to enjoy the water as it is extremely strict of what you can do. 1) Can't have any beach items in the water 2) Can't sit on the rocks (even when the rock is on the sand) 3) When the lifeguards are on their 15 minute breaks so is the water (no one is allowed to be in the water during this time).
Instead of being able to relax and enjoy the beach you are stressed out trying to figure out what you can do.
Do not recommend and will never return!

I went alot as a child since moving closer to the beach i thought i would go with my daughter. We were not allowed to go into water above the shoulders how impossible with waves i got yelled at by a lifegaurd three times. Water is clean and the beach as well very pretty but annoying no wonder it wasnt crowded at all you cant swim deep. Unfortunatley my daughter won't take me back so thanks.

We love Huntington Beach. Right now the overflow parking lot is closed off due to covid-19 so we parked up top and took a nice leisurely walk down the new steps they just recently put in to the overflow area. Great job on the steps ~ very easy on the knees. The water is very high right now so most of the break walls are not fully accessible. This is a very clean and well kept beach.

A very nice beach . But it's difficult to get down too. There's a nice park above the cliffs where you can sit and enjoy the views. There's also a nice paved trail above and a playground. There's a tunnel under the road but I did walk to the other side

Supposedly, this was supposed to be a highly-rated fresh water lake shore. We weren't impressed. Be aware that you have to navigate a fair amount of stairs to get to the water.

We decided to take a side trip down to Huntington Beach while we were visiting the area for my daughter's gymnastics meet in Anaheim. It took us maybe 45 minutes to drive here from our hotel near Disney.
It cost us maybe $15 to park in one of the Lots adjacent to the beach which seems to be pretty standard for this area of California. The sand was soft and yellowish White. The water in January was quite cold but the kids were happy to Splash around in the very shallow water. We let them do that until a local Surfer told us that we needed to watch out for stingrays in the very shallow water. We didn't want anyone to get stung so we listened to him and had them play further up on the beach making sandcastles for the rest of the afternoon.
There were a number of Surfers in the water and people on boogie boards too. The waves were very consistent but not very large that day. I understand that this is quite normal for the beach though. As I said before, the water was quite cold but you could rent a wetsuit nearby for relatively cheap.
Of the three beaches we visited on this trip (Venice, Huntington, and Long Beach) this was my favorite

I've been to Huntington Beach twice now, the most recent being this past weekend.
Though the weather was nice, it was far from 'swimming and sunning' weather so the actual beach was pretty free of people.
We spent about 3 hours beach-combing for interesting rocks, shells, and other weathered man-made relics. It's a perfect location for such pastimes and offers lots of varied lake edge to search in, ranging from sand to worn fingernail sized pebbles.
One note: The MetroParks Special ice cream flavor at the 'Hut' concession is FANTASTIC!! Their ice creams are very good and are almost worth a special trip!

We visited this beach the last Saturday in July. I was disappointed in this beach. It is pebbly and narrow. Compared to the beautiful sandy beaches in southeastern Michigan, this beach is not very good. I haven't been to any other Lake Erie beaches, so I can't compare it to them. There really wasn't much of an area to walk, either. My sons and nephews did have fun skipping pebbles in the lake. I put my feet in the chilly water, but we did not go swimming as the water was rough and there was a water quality and rip tide warning.

The width of the beach is shallow but still clean. It's in a lovely park as well. However there's is a break time for swimmers. I am in a family of triathletes. We can't just stop in the middle of our swim especially when we have all the required safety gear. We've never been to a beach anywhere where there were breaks. Good place to tan though and hangout I guess. But find another spot to swim.

Classic lakefront beach hampered this year by record high water levels. Still, plenty of parking, picnic tables, clean rest rooms and an ice cream shop await your visit. There are about 50 steps down to the beach from the ground level. The city of Cleveland also presents well on the eastern skyline. Great spot for a walk and very easy to get to.

Are dogs allowed to be on the beach and swim here?

I read that there are stairs leading to this beach. My son uses crutches to walk and needs a railing to go up and down stairs. Do the stairs have a railing?

I think you could also. I would call Clevelands Metropark system
