About
a medical doctor from Cincinnati, settled in Bainbridge in the mid-1820's. In the fall of 1827, he began teaching classes for those who wished to study "preparatory" to entering a medical college. The following spring, his advertisements emphasized his interest in dentistry, a specialty he favored in both practice and instruction. Dr. Harris' home and the site of instruction for the original class stands preserved today as a landmark in the history of dentistry and as a listing on the National Registry of Historic Places.

This place was absolutely spectacular! You didn't realize that something so amazing and historically significant is in your back yard. Go for a really informative and historical tour from the docent who's amazing as well! GIve yourself about an hour - due to the wealth of dental information you'll receive! They're only open on weekends with limited hours, so check that before going (I believe they offer tours by appointment as well). Well worth a stop!

Sam K, Small town museums have a hard time obtaining volunteers to keep the doors open. It is people like you who appreciate the time and the education a museum has to offer that makes the effort worthwhile. Thanks for your review. Brian

Worth a nice visit to Bainbridge. This place is very historical. First Dental School. Pretty cool to see all the dental tools that were used. Makes one appreciate how far we have come.

Bainbridge centers on SR 50, and the Dental Museum is very prominent.

We finally arranged a visit after driving by for years.

Kind of neat to know tha Ohio is host to a dental museum.

We recommend taking children to this site. The museum is a far cry from 2016 dental practices.

Bainbridge is host to the Octoaber fall festival of leaves annually.

Wow ! My first time being here and I live in Hillsboro and come to Bainbridge once a week. You would have thought I would have stopped here. However when I did I was very impressed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very nice. This Is a must see. I learned a lot about dentistry.

This tiny house was the residence of one of America's first dentists, and the school he started. Two of his nine graduates went on to found the first dental colleges in the country. The museum offers a guided tour by a costumed interpreter, and features many early dental implements. X-ray equipment, denture making tools, a complete (and scary) office with a foot powered drill are among the items on display.
