Nice little island with a good walking trail. Only takes about 45 mins. Sculptures have now been added along the track which I really loved.
It can be a bit blowy so I would suggest keeping a good hold of young children especially along the back of the island where you are closer to the rocks and cliffs.

The island itself is as always beautiful and accessible for most people. Good walking tracks, well signage posted, informative signs plus interesting sculptures along the paths around the island. A lovely, inviting cafe has emerged where a casual kiosk once was. However the other section of this building which once housed a popular restaurant is an untidy, neglected eyesore. There is also outdated signage at the beginning of the island showing a photo of the "missing" restaurant!! Such a wonderful tourist destination but facilities for tourists can still be vastly improved!

My daughter and I visited in the holidays. I was a bit let down by the outdoor cafe.. the menu was small and expensive and it wasn’t indoor dining as I originally thought. The hike was ok but the hamburger sculpture was the best part. I expected a penguin centre where we would go in and learn about penguins, maybe buy a gift or two but there was nothing there at all unless you do the night tour. Didn’t spend much time here.

The day we went it was VERY windy. Took around 15 minutes against the wind to walk over the bridge but only 10 to get back. There's a lovely cafe but we had already eaten. I walked to the top on a boardwalk next to the cafe for great views but it was extremely windy.

A bit disapointed as there was so much construction going on an no mention of it on any victor harbor websites that most things are closed down. Walked over to the "cafe" which we were told was open, got there an no way has that been opened lately. Was a bit of a hike just to find a closed shop. Gave it a 3 as the views are beautiful. Once all the work has been done and trucks and cranes are gone, may be nicer.

Family of 3 (including 10yo), horse wasn’t operating and we walked over the bridge. The day was forecasted to be a windy one and she didn’t disappoint but didn’t find it an issue.
We were lucky enough to spot a school of dolphins right near the pier at cafe feeding on a school of fish
Stopped for coffee and snack at cafe to then venture walking over the island. The views up top are stunning 360, stairs take to up and down with handrails in case anyone needs assistance. Once at the top you take can your time and not strenuous
Perfect photo opportunities
I did find it weird with trees in middle of car park roadway

Was nice to have a walk around and see the two extremes of the island. The artwork dotted along the paths was a nice touch and bit of interest. Kids were hoping to see penguins but alas none to be found (more of an evening/night time thing)

Great views but a very steep walk, especially for young kids. It’s a shame the island cafe is shut (not sure for how long) and apparently not many(if any) penguins left on the island. The only wildlife we saw was a sleepy lizard. The horse drawn tram is also not currently running due to renovations so we had to walk across the bridge to access the island.

I’ve been to Granite Island more times than I can count but it never grows old. It’s often windy. The walk around the island is a decent workout. Beautiful views to be seen all around. It’s a nice walk getting over from Victor harbour or there’s the option of sitting on the horse drawn cart which is $15 per person one way. Haven’t spotted a penguin here in many years. Used to see them a lot around 30 years ago.

This island in Victor Harbour is a great way to spend a few hours. Either walk or take the horse drawn tram across the bridge to enjoy an area that has great views, plenty of areas to sit and relax, have a picnic lunch or just grab something at the cafe. You can walk around the island on enjoy views across the water or the harbour. Certainly somewhere to visit when in Victor Harbour.
