Great history and friendly staff
Feb 2021
The staff are locals, very informed and happy to pass the time chatting about the history of the area.

It's a good couple of hours to see everything, adults will probably find it more interesting than the kids but there's still lots to see.

Some of the exhibits are a bit tired, but it's all volunteer staff so they have their work cut out just keeping up with it.

Personal favorite was the shark and fishing exhibits, but it's all good, especially some of the farm machinery and old cars.

Don't miss it if you're in Streaky, but note it's only open two or three days per week.

Visited on Monday 9th March. It was a public holiday in SA and did not get to see the museum as everything was closed, seemed a pity, had we known would have checked it out when we first arrived in Streaky Bay.

An eclectic collection of items from the local area and further afield.
A shame that they have not enough volunteers to thoroughly catalogue and describe the artifacts but they have done very well.
For anyone with an interest in modern and local history this is a must.

So Much History
Aug 2019
This little museum was the best find we loved every minute spent here. There is so much variety from all parts of the Streaky Bay Community would go back again.

This could be a better display

We visited the museum. It is typical of country museums - filled with lots of old memorabilia, furniture and clothing. We found that the place was very dusty and labels needing some attention. It was difficult to see the clothing and had to dodge cobwebs out in the sheds. I think some attention to rearranging their displays and modernising how it is set out would help with the presentation and ambience.

Great Local History

We were surprised how much this museum had within its grounds. We especially liked the 'Pug and Pine Cottage which gave us a good idea of pioneer life. Lack of volunteers in national Trust Museums is always a promlem and those who do volunteer do a great job
