Delightful Experience
Nov 2020
When leaving Streaky Bay, I was delighted to find the front door of this church open, so went inside. The church has an interesting exterior: it was built in 1912, and there are architectural similarities to the local Anglican Church which was built in the same year. I found the interior warm and welcoming, with lovely stained glass windows behind the altar. St Canute was a Danish saint, and there is an icon of him in the South transept which was apparently given to the church by the Danish Archbishop at the time of the church’s centenary.

A lovely little church that doesn't lose out to its big city cousins.Made of local stone and has a whitewashed interior with a timber pitched roof & exposed beams and ancient timber pews. A nice place for reflection on a hectic road trip !
