I enjoyed the chance to taste the Almonds and a few other tasting samples they had, my personal favourite is the salt and vinegar almonds.

On the lovely Main Road, this train is a quaint novel cafe. The children were impressed with the interior and especially loved the tickets and coins from all around the world that are beneath the glass tabletops. I enjoyed a coffee and scones special, whilst the children had very large milkshakes, which were so big they could not finish. However there are kids' sized milkshakes too. A lovely little stop.

I love their selection of nuts, but I’ve tried to visit twice in 2 different holidays and both times they weren’t open. They say on the web site they open 7 days (web page updated 2022). Both times I got there, there was a paper note on the gate saying they were closed on that day. Don’t rely on their website times or the sign on their board outside. Ring first.

I visited with my 2 year old son. He found a toy car he liked in the gift shop and I suggested he try it out. The lady working there screamed at us and then kicked us out. Worst place I've ever visited.

We started our day in the wine region of McLaren Vale with a visit to the Almond Train. It sells a large selection of flavoured almond nuts as well as other speciality foods. As the name suggest its in a old converted railway carriage and is quite cute. Try out the toffee almond if you get the chance.

Awesome concept - having a shop in a disused and classic train carriage - but nothing special inside (unless you're after some really expensive nuts!)!

We stopped at The Almond Train as it looked inviting, the train is divided into two shops the first is a gift shop full of goodies like, chutney, mustards, skin products, lavender honey and gift baskets to order and lots more, also you were able to sample same of the products. The other half of the carriage is a cafe which was closed so I cannot comment on it. The Almond Train is worth a visit.

This is located in the main strip, in an old train. Some yummy almonds, and other treats to taste. Not a must do, however if you have time it is cute to see.
