This was our first visit to the Yurt in 22 years when it was VERY new. The views were spectacular then and seemed even better today. On our first visit we met Hugh and shared our love for outstanding wines and oysters. Today we met Will who accommodated our need to sit outside, poured some outstanding wines and gave us an experience rather than just a tasting. I was in the wine business for many years and have visited so many cellar doors around the world. Will is one of the best.

Alex and Christna (sp?) and Sabine were welcoming, very knowledgeable, and wonderful! The cellar door setting in the circular, windowed tasting room looking out on the vineyards (built over an old water tank!) is simply spectacular...the wines I tasted were all delicious...the drama queen sparkling wine, the nimble king cab, the lovely Jekyll and Hyde co-fermented blend of shiraz and Viognier!...beautiful reds in ancient earth, moocher mouvedre, and oddball saperovi, from the saperovi varietal that dates back to 6000BC (8000 years old-possibly the oldest known varietal on earth), from Georgia in Russia! So rich and complex. The wines are top shelf and the setting is gorgeous, and best of all, Alex, Christna, and Sabine made it a great afternoon.

We had Jodie take very good care of my special person and myself with a wealth of knowledge of the incredible Hugh Hamilton estate in McLarenvale. The wine was exquisite and can’t wait to get back there again. Thanks again to the team at Hugh Hamilton, we both loved the setting and beautiful scenery with the rolling grapevines and picturesque views

Just an amazing winery :) The views in the cellar doors is breathtaking. Doing the wine tasting we got a variety of 5 very different wines to taste. The stuff was very kind, open and gave a lot of information about the vines, the history of the family and their vineyards.

Visited HH a little about 12m ago and had a wonderful time. Writing a review now because we joined the wine club while we were there, we’ve had two deliveries and feel able to judge the quality of the whole experience now, looking back. It’s been excellent. In particular, HH produces full bodied, flavoursome red wines that standout. They are not cheap but they are great quality. Their venue is in a gorgeous setting and the staff made our tasting session a pleasure. Still loving the Oddball and the Black Bloods.

Great service, great wines, lovely place to visit and try wines and chill. Service was very friendly, we chose the buy a bottle with platter experience, there was no heavy sell or obligation to sit down one on one to hear about 50 wines. Nothing was too much trouble. Bought 3 bottles in the end and had a splendid afternoon chilling in the beautiful surrounds. Definitely recommend and will drop in again.

Wow, wow, wow, a fantastic venue, with awesome views, great wines, but I must say how wonderful Will was in explaining the wines, the history and the vineyards, for a young man his knowledge was very good and his manner and customer service was first class. Joined the Black Sheep family and will definitely be bringing all our friends along to enjoy this experience. Regards Jim and Moira
