We did a day trip from Rawnsley Park and did the Mount Ohlsson Bagge (?) walk. Great view of the pound from the summit. Great exercise for your legs, There are a number of rocks to scramble over and the path is well sign posted. Best done on a sunny winter's day so that you don't get too hot. St... More

They serve pub food at restaurant prices. But the serves are large and wholesome, and if you have been out hiking all day, it is just what you might need.

Exceeded my expectation of how spectacular and how much the Pound dominates the landscape. If you are fit, take a walk but if not take a scenic flight. We did a 15 minute sunset flight from Rawnsley Station and it was truly spectacular and worth the cost.

My wife and I did this walk on a cool day in July. We are moderately fit in our late 50s. We did the inside walk first from the caravan park to the wangarra lookout up to tanderra saddle and then took the outer route down back to the visitors center. We left a little late , around 10.40. If... More

We stayed at the Wilpena Pound Resort on a 3 day package deal that included a Tour of the Flinders Ranges and a Flight from the Pound over Lake Ayer which was one of the most fabulous things we have done. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Flinders Ranges . We Travelled in March 2013.

We commenced the Arkaba Walk arranged by Wild Bush Luxury at Wilena Pound. We had no idea this ancient rock formation existed. Such an unusual formation looks for all the world like a massive meteor crater. The pound itself is vast with high walls and a flat walking surface. Inside are kangaroos, emus applenty. There are two great viewing platforms... More

We stayed here for one night. What a beautiful place for a stay. Showers and tolets are clean. Fire wood is expensive. Fortunately we brought our own. Camp Kitchens were very poor no hot water and there were no plugs. No power at the shelters. We felt like we had paid a lot of money for the view.

Phew is the word one uses once you get to St Mary's peak. It is a long and hard full day hike and probably best done in winter when it is not too hot. I would hate to think how it would be in Australian Summer. You need all the safety gear like a hat, jacket, water and a torch.... More

Great walks to do and wonderful views to see all along the walks. Some walks are quite difficult. Signage could do with upgrading as far as difficulty of walk.
