Took a walk along all the tracks at Boat Mountain early one morning in summer. Great views of the valley and changing flora and we also saw a few birds.

Located about 30 minutes north of Murgon, it is a pleasant drive to get here: reasonably well signposted except at the very last turnoff into Hebbel Drive that takes you up to the parking area. A single picnic table here with parking for about 6-8...More

There is an easy drive to Boat Mountain by going north from Murgon, then turning right at the sign. We had lunch at the single picnic table and then walked up 170 steps to the lookout.

Wonderful place to visit. Great views even from the closest lookout. Great place for the active family with older children or fit seniors. Parking is adequate, picnic table and seats at the parking area, the road in is only suitable for single vehicles. Good footwear...More

Stop in at the tourist info in the middle of the main street of Murgon and get yourself a free mud map of Boat Mountain it will show you the best lookouts, picnic areas and some of the most spectacular views in the South Burnett
