The beach is beautiful for walking on - long, wide and flat. The town is very pretty although a bit patchy in its services. Restaurants closed at unexpected times etc. It rains a lot, over 3 meters of rainfall a year. We visited in July, middle of the dry season and it rained 6 days straight. Very beautiful surroundings.

Absolutely beautiful beach with lovely clear water and small waves. Stunning! The area itself is very chilled out, its small but there are a good few restaurants and bars. It has a great tropical feel to it. You can visit the great barrier reef from here (only an hour away), skydive onto the beach, go on an evening Croc cruise,... More

Head to Mission and See what Torquay was like, before paradise put up a parking lot! If you want to change the pace, please go somewhere else.. Can be very humid and wet even in July, but no one seems to mind, least of all the kids.. Don't want to say anymore in case it gets spoilt. What no macs,... More

We loved mission beach. We had our own little spot and there weren't many people around. Locals are friendly. Water was clear and warm, weather was decent. We couldn't ask for much more.

Yet another beautiful beach on the Australian east coast. Wow! A big stretch of gold sand, nice clear water and palm trees. Nice little town as well. Could live here for the rest of my life (i say that about almost all coastal towns in Queensland but still)

Beautiful golden sand. Wide beach lined with Palm trees. Absolutely picturesque. Kids had a ball watching the tiny crabs and we enjoyed a family walk along the beach. A lovely daytrips or relaxing location for a break away.

Very expansive beach and very small waves made it ideal for young children...but I would only brave the waters in cooler months when you don't need to concern yourself with lethal stingers!

I've been coming to Mission Beach for 20 years off and on. I've seen it grow from a small seaside rainforest town to a tourist attraction. Of course the latter means more buildings and less rainforest, but there are still untouched areas where you can sample the rainforest coming all the way down to the beach and breath taking view. If... More
