From family to seasoned hikers this track is pretty easy but shows so much versatility with its landscape, I always see amazing animals on this walk and it is one of my faves for sure

This is one of my favourite walks around Mission Beach. 8 k return coastal walk with board walks and concrete pathways, family friendly, dog friendly and we always see turtles around Morgan’s Lookout and Turtle Bay. You walk through many different environments. Wear long sleeves and take water - there are uncovered sections and it can get hot.

Great views across to Dunk Island on family friendly track along shore through rainforest. Congratulations to volunteers who built it.

The walk leaves from the southern end of South Mission, near the boat ramp. There are some rubbish bins and a toilet there, but didn’t see any water.

The full track to Kennedy Bay is signed as 8km and 1h 55m. With a few stops along the way, that was pretty close. For those that want something shorter, you can turn around at any time. The track is made up of boardwalks, steps, rocks, roots, mangroves and beach. The track builders have done a great job and I echo the suggestion of other reviewers to do the walk at, or near, low tide.

I was even lucky enough to have a Cassowary greet me at Turtle Bay, no turtles though.

PS......take heavy duty insect spray as the mozzies were thick at places like Miji Creek 🦟❌

Very beautiful coastal track starting out from the southern end of south mission beach at the boat ramp, a serious is stairs, walking platforms and sand stretching over about 8kms return journey, not a difficult track and you can always turn back if you don’t want to do the whole length, there are a couple of nice lookouts along the way

We managed the whole track (8km return) in 2 hours with a few small stops along the way. Great for trail running. At Turtle Bay you will come to a bench seat - don’t give up here as Kennedy Bay is less than 10 minutes of easy walking. You have to walk on pebble rocks to cross the small beach and then there is a concrete, relatively flat path for the rest of the way. There are some ‘exciting’ parts of the track through mangrove (croc) country with warning signs to go with it, some beach walking and steep stair climbs in parts as well as great views and the opportunity to spot wildlife. We came across a few lizards and dead snake on our way home. You can do as little or as much of the track as you want. Best done at half or low tide.

We walked this track a few times as we really enjoyed the ease of walk and views. If feeling confident complete the full walk to the point about 3ks each way.

Arrive to a small car park next to a boat ramp (amenities there) and you can start this fairly long Kennedy Walking Track.

An enjoyable landscape and lulling easy boardwalk, turns into some step steps, climbing over tree roots and a lot more hard work.....

No problem just to enjoy the easier first section if you don't want the extra effort

This ideal walk can be done by most average fit people. Starts at boat ramp at the end of Kennedy Esplanade. Starts with a timbered board walk then progress's into a series of well defined dirt, stairs, beach & concrete pathways. It is very picturesque as you take in the breath taking views. 3.5 km one way then you turn around and enjoy it again.

This is a lovely walk. But the final portion, although an interesting walk in itself, is a little underwhelming at the end.

Morgan's Lookout has beautiful views, and the portion along the beach is absolutely delightful. We saw a large monitor lizard, multiple tiny lizards, and many birds. Only two of us decided to walk on from the lookout. The track is quite up and down, and there are a fair few stairs. Kudos to the track makers who must have worked very hard to cart concrete in amongst the rocks.

Turtle Bay is quite unique with its rocks, but Kennedy Bay was a bit of a let down. I suppose I'd been imagining a sweep of sand, or perhaps arriving at the point, but (unless we got it wrong and stopped too early - there was a sign saying Kennedy Bay), it was boulders and trees.

Having said that, it was a lovely walk, despite the December warmth.
