We were all very keen to go out to the farmworkers and learn about a very different way of life.

So far as getting there, the signage on the country roads is minimal and we had no phone reception so couldn't use maps, but we made it, taking just over 20 mins driving from Gayndah.

The hosts, Rohan and Fiona, gave us a warm welcome and invited us to look around whilst we waited for other guests to arrive. Rohan even made a quick trip to pick up their children and they all played together happily, as well as helping Fiona prepare damper.

We waited for other guests to arrive and more than one hour had passed before Rohan made a start on the first display of blacksmithing.

The adults watched the yoking of the bullocks, whilst the children's interest waned, but they were happy to run around with the other kids and pop back periodically. We were shown how the bullock team works together and were given lots of information about the animals and various techniques used by a bullocky.

Following on from this we had afternoon tea, which comprised of Fiona's damper, plus a drink. Tea, coffee, cordial and water were provided.

The visit was scheduled to finish at 4.30pm but due to the late start it was running over. Unfortunately, we were unable to stay on much past that time due to other commitments. Fiona was kind enough to take the children to see the lambs whilst other guests had afternoon tea. The kids said this was their favourite bit of the day, so it was a shame we had to rush.

Rohan asked us if we wanted to return the following day to see the rest of the displays and complete the farm walk, but we were unable to take up that offer.

I was disappointed that we didn't get the full experience. The visit was expensive being $25 per adult and $12.50 for children. So $75 all up for our party - we certainly didn't get value for money. I recently went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary with my children and two other adults and paid less for a full day out.

I think children aged around 10+ might find this more interesting than younger children like mine. Although mine probably would have enjoyed the farm walk.

Rowan and Fiona are very friendly and passionate Organic Farmers. The stay was very comfortable and they were very welcoming on arrival. We missed the Bullock Team Show but were still able to go on the Farm Walk and have afternoon Tea. We enjoyed speaking with Rowan Fiona throughout our Stay. The countryside is beautiful and we would recommend any caravaners or campers to stay here. No power and water but if you are self sufficient you will enjoy your stay
