About Mossman Gorge Centre Tours
The Mossman Gorge Centre is an Indigenous eco tourism development that will better serve visitors to the Mossman Gorge World Heritage site. Mossman Gorge provides one of Australia’s most iconic Aboriginal experiences in Tropical North Queensland and is the perfect option for visitors looking for genuine, authentic engagement with Indigenous Australia. At the Mossman Gorge Centre you will find an array of services to help you organise your adventure through the Gorge. Staff at the Visitor Information desk will assist you in planning your route around the Gorge, as well as book your Dreamtime Walk. Plan your route over a coffee at the café or peruse the art gallery, a pleasure that might have more relevance after hearing about the Dreamtime stories from the Kuku Yalanji people. An eco-friendly, low emission shuttle bus is available from the Mossman Gorge Centre to the heart of the Gorge. A “must do” for every visitor to Mossman Gorge are the Indigenous guided Dreamtime Walks, conducted by the traditional owners of the Gorge, the Kuku Yalanji people. Ngadiku (Nar-di-gul) meaning stories and legends from a long time ago in local Kuku Yalanji language, takes you on a journey along private, easy graded tracks, visiting special places and culturally significant sites, past traditional bark shelters and over meandering cool rainforest streams.

This is a really special place. The staff at the tour centre are very Friendly. The walk at the gorge really surprised us. Part of the path is set high and the rest is within the rainforest where you can really experience the country. A must do when you get this this wonderful part of the world. The gift shop is be try good and reasonably priced. The tour bus cost to the gorge is worth the cost of you don’t want walk up to the track entrance

Definitely worth a look! Very pretty. Swimming while they don’t encourage it was also awesome. The damper at the cafe was yummy and unique worth stopping for.

What a shame that we can no longer experience the great natural places in our country without getting involved with all this commercialism.

Hi JohnClarkeAu We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your experience at the Mossman Gorge Centre. It is absolutely our goal to provide an opportunity for guests to enjoy the natural beauty of the region and we therefore regret that this was not your experience. One of the major problems that faced the Mossman Gorge area before the development of the Centre was the high amount of tourist traffic that would use the roads leading into the Gorge. With the area part of the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest, it is vital that every effort is made to ensure the protection of this beautiful landmark for future generations. It may be of interest to know that The Mossman Gorge Centre is the central hub for all things Mossman Gorge and is staffed by local residents with a breadth of knowledge on the area. The Centre is proud to have a workforce with approximately 90% Indigenous employment. Our team includes local Kuku Yalanji people who are proud to share the stories and their knowledge of the Mossman area with our visitors. Indigenous staff from other areas across Queensland and Australia have joined us to now call Mossman home, so the diversity among our team provides a unique experience for guests wishing to learn more about Kuku Yalanji and other Indigenous cultures. While we do ask guests to utilise the shuttle buses to enter the National park so as to protect the area for future generations we certainly welcome guest to explore the park on their own should they wish. We trust that this has provided you with a better understanding of our facility at Mossman Gorge. Kind Regards Mossman Gorge Centre

I am fortunate to have visited this place a few times now and it does not disappoint. Guided tours are extremely interesting but it is just as enjoyable taking the walk by yourself. On a hot day you can also have a swim in the beautiful fresh water. The cafe has a limited offering due to Covid but my friend said it was one of the best coffees’ she has had. The gift shop has some very nice things too if you want to take home an indigenous Souvineer,

Spent a few hours here walking the trails which were easy and safe. I have bad knees an didn't have an issue. I thought the boardwalk was very well placed in the rainforest. We were quite happy to do our own thing and not go on a formal tour. The shuttle buses were extremely clean and set up for social distancing. All the staff were kind, friendly and courteous.
