Relaxed and quiet, remote and removed from technology. Fantastic area to slow down and unwind. Beautiful beaches to walk along (swim at own risk...crocs around) and amazing wildlife. Fresh water swimming holes were a refreshing respite from the heat. Well worth a visit.

We drove up to Cape Tribulation from Cairns and then stayed the night in Port Douglas. It was a lovely day walking on the tracks and seeing where the rainforest meets the ocean. Oh how you long to get into those beautiful creeks to cool off, BUT YOU DON'T due to the crocks.

This area is truly beautiful and though we didn't check out the national forest much we did check out the beauty of the beach having lunch there.

Wonderful beach to the north of the cape, beautiful mangroves and you can feel that you are a long way from any town.

We visited Cape Tribulation for four days knowing we would see some beaches, the rainforest and go snorkelling. We were most excited about snorkelling in this area and went out with Ocean Safari and were not disappointed at all. Ocean Safari did a splendid job taking us out to a couple of great locations for two hours of snorkelling as... More

We went to the north edge (where they have that "4wd only crossing" - btw, that crossing is regularly graded, so we could cross it in our small 2wd SUV just fine, but this area itself is so interesting!) spent a beautiful day there. First, we saw a cassowary bird, then we enjoyed swimming in a swimming hole (it's probably... More

Wow. Could not get enough of this beautiful rainforest. We both thoroughly enjoyed a magical day and would highly recommend spending the day enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

A visit to Far North Queensland is not complete without the car ferry trip across the Daintree River. The drive itself to the river crossing is beautiful, as you pass cane fields surrounded by mountains. It doesn't take long before you are driving in spectacular rainforest with the Coral Sea as the backdrop. There a number of boardwalks throughout the... More

I haven't been here in a while, but the two previous occasions I was there it was worth the trip - both in the dry and the wet seasons. The landscape and scenery is spectacular and well worth the long and arduous trip of getting there. If you can afford to fly do so, as I drove from the Tablelands... More
