After a long drive from Cairns, we were greeted with a pretty average beach at Cape Tribulation. Limited opportunities to enjoy the picnic we had brought, limited opportunities for people who find walking difficult.
Not worth the trip.

Famous for where the rainforest meets the reef, this is an iconic location in Far North Queensland, and as such well worth a stop.
The beach itself is pleasant enough and worth a stroll along: no swimming please, this is croc country.
The tide was out at the time we visited so it was easy to discern the reef itself, which is somewhat more difficult at higher tides. Lovely views from the beach to Cape Trib itself where at the southern end of the beach, there is access to a lookout along the beach to the north.
Personally, I thought the rainforest/reef encounter was more evident and iconic and representative of the classic photos I have seen from Emmagen Beach, the next one north from Cape Tribulation beach.

Stunning beach and a couple of really nice walks to do to see different views of the area. There were quite a few people around and a walking tour happening when we visited but plenty of open space so you can wander around freely. Just a beautiful part of the world.

We went as far as the sealed road goes before turning around. Such a lovely peaceful ride. If you wind your windows down you will hear the noise of the cicadas or other forest life. We stopped off along the way at beaches etc, went for walks, looked at look outs and generally had a lovely drive from palm Cove return.

The drive from Cairns is quite long but well and truly worth it. From the novelty of crossing the Daintree River by ferry to observing the sugar cane farming and the forest you drive through it is truly incredible. Keep your speed down though as cassowaries (and near the end tree kangaroos) have been known to cross the roads. We didn't see any but the excitement of knowing they are around was enough. The beach itself is beautiful, but don't swim there unless you like the idea of being crocodile food. We didn't see any of the great beasts but did see a nest so they were obviously around the place. If you walk half way between water and tree line you are probably best off as you can see them coming from either land or sea.

Worth the 40 minutes drive from the ferry to the Cape Trib beach. Clean, tranquil and almost secluded. This is the spot to lose yourself and be immersed in own world. I would not swim here, but could definitely lay under a palm tree with a great book and music playlist.

The rain forest really does come down to the reef. Fine beach sand, coconut trees and rain forest makes an idyllic setting. No wonder there are so many tourists, buses and cars in the area.

Didn't take a picture at the beach, as I feel is a little overrated.
Nothing of the extra ordinary.
Waste of time.

Absolutely stunning view. Sadly unlike most other beaches in the world you can't swim in the water due to stingers and saltwater crocodiles so a trip here is more of a walk and quick photo. Beautiful nonetheless!

Beautiful views. Lovely to walk along the beach - tide was out - and explore the area. Walked to the look out - easy walk.

Can anyone recommend a camp site for a R V in the area

Hi, you need to specify what kind of recreational vehicle and what you want to do. Put up tents as well, BBQ etc. At home my bicycle is recreational.
