Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched...

Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After an exhilarating fast ride of approximately 25 minutes guests are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, home to an abundance of marine life as well as beautiful hard and soft corals. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing guests to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. The Ocean Safari check in office is at the Turtle Rock Cafe and Safari Lodge, Cape Tribulation Road and a courtesy bus pick up from Cape Tribulation accommodation is included. Ocean Safari has Advanced Eco Accreditation.

We didn't have much experience in snorkelling but didn't want to miss the opportunity in visiting Australia, having heard so much about the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. The crew provided good coaching for beginners, with a special attention to ones that were a little anxious about it. One of our friends did have difficulty and the crew was... More

I researched several companies before deciding to book the morning half day tour with Ocean Safari. Most tours depart from Cairns or Port Douglas but we decided to drive from our accommodation in Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation (approx. 1 ½ hours without traffic or any ferry delays) as I wasn’t keen on boarding a big cruiser with dozens of... This was our first snorkelling experience and I am so glad we went with ocean safari instead of big cruise ships, A small group of 25 people and amazingly helpful and knowledgeable staff. It was all about the reef which was the intent. We saw amazing marine life, including the turtle and beautiful coral. I lost some of my video feed... More

Highly recommended. Kane and Adam were excellent guides. Been to the reef 3 years in a row and ok the bigger tours at port Douglas and cairns, ocean safari has been by far the best. Small group, swam with turtles and overall an excellent day

The half day trip to the reef was awesome! Amazing coral and huge clams. The trip is just long enough to see some amazing things but not so long you get exhausted. Would highly recommend this trip!

We had a great time on the Ocean Safari yesterday. Sarah and Ads were really funny and energetic! Special thanks to Sarah for taking care of my in-laws who couldn't swim well. She patiently guided around on a life ring and showed then all the wildlife. It was such an amazing experience, we actually got to swim with a turtle!... More

Fantastic experience once again. This is my second trip with Ocean Safari - this time with a friend from Perth. For her it was an experience of a lifetime, luckily for me I live here and I can keep on experiencing it! The whole process is really professional, Kane and his partner are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing their... More

I loved this tour as the ride out to the reef was short (about 20 mins) which left us ample time to snorkel in Mackey Reef, incredible marine life and the staff were so amazing !!!! We saw sooooo many beautiful fish under the sea I wish we spent all day there !!!! Thank you Ocean Safari!!!!

Had the best day on the reef yesterday. Pristine conditions. Only 25 people on the tour maximum - we travelled from port Douglas to avoid the crowds and view the amazing barrier reef and we're definitely not disappointed. The coral was beautiful and we witnessed thousands of beautiful fish and sea turtles. Should be a must on anyone's to do... More
