Was such a nice easy walk. The waterfalls on the way were beautiful then you come across Nandroya Falls itself. It really is stunning. My only regret was not having my bathers...do not forget them..the water is beautiful. You just need to be aware of...More

I walked with a group of friends and we did the full 10km loop. There were a few hazards after recent rain but nothing we couldn't manage. The longer of the two tracks takes you past smaller falls and the views are beautiful Nandroya falls...More

Lived in the area for 30 years and finally did this walk last week. Took my 6 month old in a hiking pack and did the 10km loop. A great challenge with the track a bit damaged after all the rain and plenty of fallen...More

Absolutely beautiful falls to visit! It was a little hard to find, due to no signage. You'll find Henrietta Creek camp ground, and about 150 meters from the camp ground, you will see a small sign to the walking track to Nandroya Falls. We went...More

Today we tortured two seven year olds and one 14 year old by extracting them from their ipads and hiking to Nandroya Falls. It was raining slightly so was slippery but we did the round trip in abt two hours, including time for swimming. Fabulous...More

We are locals, so have done this walk a number of times over the years. It is a beautiful set of falls - don't rush the walk. Walk all around the area, including onto the lower part of the falls - beautiful from whichever angle...More

We stopped here after a tip off from a local that it is a must see. We were absolutely amazed at the experience. the 2.4 km walk to the falls from the carpark was a easy walk if you are fit and nimble. The scenery...More

The walk was moderate to strenuous if you take the longer track(4km). Took us about an hour and we passed a few other little waterfalls which were very pretty (make sure you wear good footwear). The other track which is just under 2km and is...More

I am very surprised that this waterfall is not more well-known, with only a small sign marking the falls from the highway. The falls are amazing, dropping about 50 metres over two drops, with the upper tier being perfect for a swim. The walk in...More

Trip Report- Port Douglas to the Whitsundays (6 Replies)
After months of planning, our holiday is almost over and it's time now to give back to this forum which was so helpful when planning, procrastinating and questioning in prep for our 3 weeks away. We flew from Adelaide to Cairns on Jetstar leaving behind winter and work. Picked up our rental car for 9 days and headed straight to Port Douglas for 3 nights. We stopped at Smithfield shopping centre on the way to pick up supplies. This is a lovely drive especially along the coast. Palm Villas...More

Hi everybody, I'm planning to visit Josephine falls,Nandroya Falls, Mungalli Falls, Ellinjaa Falls, and Millaa Millaa Falls todau. I had read that there's been some deaths at Josephine Falls. It said the deaths we're the result of being taken away by fast currents. I had asked someone at Port Douglad and they said its mostly due to wet season and I should be ok. I'm going with my wife. We're in our 30s and are average swimmers. I wanted to check if you guys have heard of any risk...More

During the wet season, currents can be strong... and occasionally unpredictable if there have been heavy rains upstream. I love Josephine Falls, but am also not a particularly strong swimmer, so judge the conditions on the day. It's a popular place; you will be able to watch others and see what the current is like. If in doubt, stay safe :) Cheers, Steve
