If you want to feel like an absolute badass then I highly recommend taking the wheel at the Paul Swift Ultimate Stunt Driving Experience.

The stunt driving experience sees you attempt J turns, handbrake parking and drifting, before rounding off in a timed lap in a seriously powerful Mustang. All the instructors were patient and encouraging, and it's impressive to actually see Paul - a celeb in the auto world - strap in alongside you, not least because he offers a rather unique taxi ride at the end of the session. Absolutely brilliant.

Note - I did the Ultimate Stunt Driving Experience during COVID times and was really impressed by the cleanliness on show. One instructor said he'd never smelt so lemony, such was the degree of wiping down on display, and I felt seriously reassured by it all.

Loads of fun!!! Visited today with my partner. I’ve always absolutely loved driving, however was a little apprehensive as I hadn’t driven a manual car in nearly a decade, nevermind drifted one! All the instructors were lovely and really helpful. Before you knew it, you’re doing things in cars you didn’t even know possible and your confidence builds immediately. Having a crowd of people there isn’t intimidating in the slightest, everyone is there just to have fun and it adds something cheering each other on. The timed lap was great fun and added competition (with camaraderie!) to the morning. Really, really recommend it!!! Thanks everyone!

This was a gift from my kids for Christmas and I booked the dayu on Fathers day. What a treat. Paul and his team made it all fun and really well run. I got the chance to do a few crazy things i never thought I'd do on 4 wheels and definitely something ive never done on 2 wheels. Yes there is a little bit of waiting around but its pretty minimal and its good to watch everybody else try there hand and the madness.
Can't recomend this enough if you want a bit of harmless adrenalin and some great thrills. Felt very safe even when a passenger with Paul driving a car on 2 wheels.
Just a great day shared with my family. Many thanks

My husband had a really good afternoon but I don't feel the description of this experience gives an accurate impression of what you pay for. I bought through red letter days and the description states "Briefings may be shared. All driving time is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor.". I clarified that this was accurate when I spoke to one of the Paul Swift team to make my husband's booking... Technically this is accurate as when my husband was in the car he was the only one driving! HOWEVER, of the 2 and a quarter hour experience, he spent only 12 minutes actually driving... He was in the car when other participants were having their go but also spent a lot of the afternoon standing waiting for his turn in a car. There were 27 participants split between 5 cars on the afternoon we went so inevitably there was a lot of hanging around. It was fun watching the professionals demonstrate the stunts and my husband had a lot of fun but please don't pay for this experience if you are expecting to get an afternoon of stunt driving - you'll get some but maybe not as much as you're expecting.

I did complain to one of the staff members on the day saying that the experience wasn't what I was expecting. I was told that my husband would be exhausted from the driving at the end of the afternoon and wouldn't want to do any more. This was definitely not the case - he felt he had a taster of stunt driving but would have loved to have spent more time behind the wheel as we expected. I was also told that this experience was far better than others available - I'm not in a position to comment on that (it may well be true) but I don't feel that's the point - I don't feel that I got what I expected based on the description on the red letter days website.

Fun but not as expected...

Really pleased you husband enjoyed his experience and apologies for the misunderstanding regarding the one to one training. We have contacted red letter days and asked them to amend their listing to the correct details.

Totally agree with the below review from Jake

Total driving experience time is around 10 minutes maximum. You’re there for 2.5 hrs in total.

There are five cars giving demos, but the group I was in had 30 people all doing the same experience.... so you do the math

My other half has always liked cars. F1, racing, touring ... the lot. As is natural for a car enthusiast she also loves Top Gear. She went to a Top Gear live show and at that show Paul Swift and his Stunt driving team were performing. After a little searching I discovered that you could book onto your very own experience to learn how to drive like the stunt drivers.

J-Turns, Drifting, Spins and high speed parallel parking were all promised ... and boy did they deliver!

We turned up at Silverstone, next to the visitor centre where they had cordoned off most of the large car park. They had laid out a load of coloured cones marking out various courses. We were introduced to our instructors - including Paul Swift himself - who then demonstrated what was going to be happening.

There were 25 people in attendance, plus family and friends onlooking. First up was Paul demonstrating how to parallel park. Two brand new Ford Focus STs (the cars we would be driving later) were parked up with a space between them enough for another focus to fit into. He then drove the car at the space, applied the handbrake and slid the car into a perfect park. Incredible to watch!

Now it was our turn. First was the parallel park, then a J-Turn (which turned out to be the easiest of the activities!), then a lap of the auto-test track and finally drifting and donuts with Paul. The auto test was timed with our times displayed on a Top Gear style leaderboard which added to the fun. I came a respectable 7th, and my other half unfortunately got a 5 second penalty and so ended up down the bottom somewhere!

After a head to head version of the same course at the end, pitting people of similar skill against each other in a "first to finish" showdown Paul demonstrated the most insane thing I have seen a car do ... driving it on 2 wheels. I shall attach photos to explain!

The day was well organised and communicated right the way through from first calling them to the day itself. Some activities involve being flung around a bit, especially the J-Turn, which left me feeling a touch dizzy but smiling from ear to ear!

I would not hesitate to recommend this excellent experience to anyone. I was amazed to not find it on Trip Advisor - hence the immediate review! Thank you so much to all involved for giving us a fantastic afternoon out.

Worth noting finally that they have multiple venues, this review is for the Silverstone venue, although I am sure they are all just as good.

First of all I’d like to say that I throughly enjoyed every second I was driving the car.

I felt the instructors were very friendly and tried to give you a detailed explanation for each manoeuvre. It was great fun trying new things in a car that I’d never done before and also driving a mustang (although only in 1st gear).

Unfortunately I felt as though I was almost misled with regards to the duration of drive time, it’s all well and good saying the experience lasts for 3 hours but I think you have to let people know they only get a fraction of that time in the drivers seat. Overall I’d presume the total time spent driving was certainly no more than 10 minutes.

To sum it up in short, for the price I think there are much better things that you can do for instance a skydive. With this in mind if you are happy to have a brief taster (emphasis on the brief) of drifting, J-turns etc and the cost doesn’t matter then look no further.

I did this at Silverstone and had a really good day. I agree with some of the other reviewers that I wanted more time driving but considering the work/cost that goes into venue hire, drivers, co-ordination etc I was more than happy with some j-turns, drifting, handbrake parking and timed laps. Furthermore I didn't feel I spent much time waiting... in the car as a passenger was fun and just increased the want to get into the driving seat :)
Silverstone is very easy to get to and parking was a breeze (right next door to the experience location).
All of the intructors were great. Patient, friendly and unpeturbed by a serious dose of cone carnage in my case.
I can thoroughly recommend this if you have always looked at this type of stunt and wondered how easy (or not!) it is.......
Last thing is that anyone can do this... you don't have to consider yourself a driving expert to give it a go.

What a fantastic couple of hours learning how to make the Focus ST do mad things! The instructors were all superb and very patient with us all. Thoroughly enjoyable experience with not too much waiting around as you move from each zone to the next fairly quickly. Autotest great fun too...shame those cones kept getting I'm my way!

Paul Swift and his amazing team host a fantastic day of adrenaline, horse power and burning rubber. The instructors are enthusiastic and encouraging , easily guiding you through j-turns, drifting, handbrake parallel parking and a Top Gear-esque timed lap in great cars. Their demonstration at the beginning hyped up the participants. I will certainly come back for another go. Thank you Paul and team.
