Herstmonceux Castle is stunning and has a neat Canadian connection (note the flag above the castle). In 1993 the Castle was purchased by Drs. Alfred and Isabel Bader and donated to Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, with the intent to establish it as a centre...More

We visited this Castle grounds and gardens recently while on holiday. We did not take the castle tour as these are generally boring and require standing around for too long, we prefer to wander freely. However we took a picnic and visited the gardens and...More

Stunning castle we spent the afternoon here and was nice and sunny so we really enjoyed walking around the gardens with all the beautiful flowers. It was a shame that we couldn't actually go inside the castle as it was not open to visitors. There...More

Thank you for your review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to us and the Science Centre. The Castle is open to visitors for daily tours ( subject to availability) which are a small extra charge but really worthwhile.

Went to the Herstmonceux castle and grounds 22/4/17. We were expecting to walk round a stately home, but you can only take the organised talk and walk which you have to pay extra for. That said it's not exspensive even if you include the science...More

Beautiful garden and grounds, well worth a visit on a warm sunny day. Outstanding trees with trunks wider than you would have seen before. Great if you love plants.

Did you find that one day was enough time to enjoy the majority of the festival's offerings? Do you know where to find a discount code so when ordering tickets on line we might save a little bit? Thanks for any further info / comments you can offer! :)

I was wondering if you have ever gone to the Saturday night banquet held as part of the Medieval Festival? We care coming over from the states this year to attend the festival and wondered if the dinner that night was a worthwhile event, given the price they are charging? Do you have any knowledge of this that you can share? Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide.
