Has just reopened under new management. They’ve done a tasteful refurb. Beers were varied, lots of craft ale options alongside a couple of traditional ales. Good wine menu. Staff are lovely and friendly. Food-wise we only tried the pork pies (loved the veggie ploughman’s one) but an interesting table food menu. Belper already has a lot of great pubs, but another one is always welcome!

Excellent pub, very friendly and professional staff. Excellent Covid safety measures, the best I’ve seen in Belper. Warm, welcoming great atmosphere, great choice of beers. Will defiantly be going back.

Been a visitor to the Riflemans for a while since the refurbishment. Lively, busy, friendly and traditional pub with good choice of ales. Landlord and landlady very welcoming. Well worth a visit.

Rifleman's Arms is a nice-enough traditional pub in the "centre" of Belper, Derbyshire. Unfortunately, the area is full of other, much more interesting places (trad, craft & bars), so at least for the real ale enthusiast, there's no real reason to go there. 4 hand pumps were available upon my visit: two were occupied by the dreaded Marston Pedigree, one was empty, and the fourth featured an undistinguished low-ABV golden ale called "Falstaff 3Faze" - or something like that. I chose a 1/2 pint of the latter - it was warm. I had asked the woman behind the bar about it before I ordered, she said she knew nothing about it since she didn't drink beer. That's always helpful.... Anyway, as such the pub itself is tidy and comfy, more of a typical small community boozer. Prices are moderate. But Belper has so much better to offer ....

During a Belper drinking session this was a good pub with agreat atmosphere on the main road through Belper to visit, very good choices of alcohol served by friendly staff, traditional English pub décor, well worth a pint.

Always worth a visit, the Riflemans Arms is a great little pub, serves a great pint of beer and has very friendly staff. The pub is also dog friendly, a good venue to watch the footy and generally a nice place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of a friendly 'local'...
