we parked at Ilam and took the footpath across the fields to Dovedale. First being NT member the parking is free as it is not at Dovedale. You have to pick your day as it can be very busy on sunny days or weekends. It seems a very poplar place for school trips of kids that really do not want... More

Dovedale is wonderful, this year we started at Milldale through to Dovedale then returned to Milldale, will certainly do it that way round in future, our dog certainly enjoyed it as well.

We meet some friends from the USA in the Peak District and wanted to show them some picturesque English countryside. Dovedale fits the bill and to cross the stones is a very English thing to do. We continue with our walk down the stream and walked over the top of the head and back to the car park. We used... More

In the UK, no matter where you live, most people will probably have heard of Dovedale. Is it worth a visit? Well lets consider what it offers. 1. It's close to the market town of Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Dales. 2. Dovedale is a valley in the Peak District of England. The land is owned by the National Trust. 3.... More

What a beautiful place. Well worth a visit if your that way. If you like walking then this is a place to go. Very dog friendly. Although I did see a few dog mess bags thrown in bushes. A little cabin selling hot dogs ice cream and drinks. Remember to take 20p if you need the toilets

This place is gorgeous, we spent a whole day walking, 10 miles altogether but there are shorter walks. Lots of beautiful views, lakes, stepping stones and caves! Make sure to wear walking boots! Nice ice cream parlour at the end :-) car parking for £3 all day! Definitely recommend
