I came here with a group of about 40 teenage children, half of which were visiting from Taiwan. I booked a session which gave us two hours on the walls, a go in the cave and lunch. The children were sorted into groups to have turns going through the caves, shown the safety video and then set loose on the walls. There is a great selection of challenges on the walls, with some really easy starter types through to advanced walls with difficult holds and positioning. One of the favourite walls with the kids was the one with the timer where the climber hit a button at the bottom and top of the wall and it timed them on a big display. At all times we felt very safe and well looked after. The kids loved the cave and all came out sweaty and exhausted. The food provided was decent enough. It was pretty standard kid fare of things like pizza and fish fingers. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I will definitely take school trips there again.

Worth a visit. Had a 10 year old, an 8 year old and a 5 year old. Older two loved the climbing but the 5 year old kept being missed by the staff between climbs. Saying that, the 5 year old loved the caves. Staff were all very nice.

A week in Maryport and we have been here almost every day with the kids, either for them to climb or go in the cave. The kids (6 & 9) really increased their confidence on the various climbing walls, and the staff were brilliant; friendly and helpful. It's good value at £8.50 per person. The "leap of faith" costs extra and after a few visits, both children wanted to try this (you climb to the top of a very tall ladder, walk along a platform and jump off - for this you wear a different harness and a helmet). For me, as a reasonably fit person, I still found the climbing challenging, my arms and back ached for a few days. Definitely a step out of my comfort zone.
