Situated on the Southern tip of Lake Windermere. Lakes Aquarium has a wide range of native marine and freshwater fish including Pike, Arctic Char, Seahorses and more. It is also home to Asian shortclawed otters, pygmy marmoset monkeys, Clown fish and amazing leaf cutter ants. Cafes and giftshops are available onsite and we can be reached by Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway or Windermere Lake Cruise as well as by car. Please note the car park is not owned by the aquarium and is pay and display. We are sorry but we cannot allow dogs inside the aquarium building.

We had a trip here while visiting the area and it was a lovely little place. Yes, they don't have the biggest space but they work with what they've got. We loved looking at the different creatures, especially the otters. So cute!

We love aquariums and this one was excellent. Some unexpected creatures in there, well worth a visit.

Lots of the enclosures looked dirty, sadly most had only plastic plants if any. The otter looked thoroughly miserable, the roof was leaking quite badly into its enclosure, no water slides were working, his pool looked shallow, nothing green at all. The best exhibit was...More

I wasn't expecting it to be very large but it's not bad. Good for the price really. Not just sea life but some other animals, and the walk through tunnel at the end is good. I would visit again on a future holiday.

Lovely aquarium with a good variety of fish, insects and animals. The working ants are great to watch! Dressing up and colouring at the end. Very nice cafe at station with great views of the lake. Travel by steam train for an extra special day.

The aquarium is quite small, maybe only an hour to tour, possibly a little longer if you have a real animal lover in the group. Value not bad, however when bought in combination with boat tickets. The boat ride was nice, but obviously this is...More
