Attentive and professional service, nice atmosphere and something that stands out against the raft of depressing pubs in and around the town. Lovely selection of ales and great to see some local brews getting some attention as well as the typical but no-less lovely Belgians that are welcome ever-presents among the line up.
They are a rarity in that they actually know how to keep their beer and serve their customers. Good stuff. These and the 'newish' Coastal Bottle place round the corner really are the only bars worth visiting in Crewe.

Great little pub; slightly tucked out of way, but definitely worth seeking out.
Great range of very well-kept handpull beers, plus, as the name might have given it away, an extensive range of bottled Belgian beers.
Friendly, welcoming staff, nice decor, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommended

This place feels like a sanctuary overtime you walk in. A quiet, peaceful little place that feels further away from the hustle and bustle than it actually is.
I lived in Amsterdam for many years so I was missing my Dutch and Belgian biers, I needn't have worried. This place has more Belgian beers on offer than the vast majority of Dutch or Belgian cafes I've been to. Every witbier you can think of, every Abbot or Monk-brewed beer you can think of, every fruit beer you can think of.
Food is simple, tasty and well priced. Staff are very friendly, knowledgable and slightly bonkers.

We popped into this pub after a visit to Crewe Beer Festival. It was my round and my friends wanted to try an ale which was advertised as hazy and I decided to try something else. I bought the drinks over to my friends, however, when we inspected the half-pints there were a LOT more than hazy and didn't taste right. My friend popped back up the bar to ask for a replacement. The manager was present but it was one of the bar staff who discarded the ales down the sink. The manager then told my friend that we would have to pay again for another ale. I then walked up to the bar myself and politely asked for a refund when the manager and his colleague repeatedly refused to comply. I only raised my voice slightly at this point and then I was accused of being abusive and aggressive at which point I asked again with polite and respectful tone for a refund. Once again my request was refused so after another attempts they finally agreed. I received the money and then were told never to return, presumably barred from the premises. I think this is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable as myself and my friends have never been barred for a pub premises before. Upon leaving we were criticized by a local couple for our actions and I believe a hint was dropped by them about us being from the Midlands. Whether we are barred or not we will certainly not be returning and I think some sort of investigation should be carried out and I am also considering forwarding my complaint to a possibly an area pub manager, local CAMRA group or maybe the local council in a form of a letter.

When you walk in the welcoming atmosphere hits you straight away, there is no hushed tones and people staring at you because we haven’t seen you before. Everyone is there to relax over some great ales and drinks. Michael and Flick will look after you and make sure you feel at ease it is a great bar this is not your bog standard generic sky on TV and loud music gaff. This is for people who care what they are drinking and care to hear what their friends are saying to them. There are over 8 regular changing cask ales as they do go through them because its well looked after and is always served correctly. There is now a proper beer list for you to look through and choose your next drink with beers from around the world there is something for everyone. The Soup and Sandwiches are amazing and if you can’t make it in around dining hours Wednesday to Saturday 12noon – 2.30p.m there are Pork Pies and Sausage rolls to die for. All the staff are very knowledgeable and very friendly and can advise you if you tell them what you like to drink they can find one for you to try. Current CAMRA South Cheshire Pub of the Year so get out and go and find this hidden gem of a place if its warm sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy finding a little bit of sanctuary here in Crewe.

Got several dirty looks from the locals, I was made to feel like I couldn't leave sooner and it cost me over 8 quid for 2 pints. Such a shame as the pub has got potential but it's just let down by the people. The irony is this is a Camra pub but one of the best pubs in Crewe (Beerdock) isn't. I'm not surprised that there is another review similar to mine.

Having been a regular in this fantastic drinking establishment since not long after they first opened, I'm quite gobsmacked by a few comments that have been put on since the 18th of December 2015, so I'd like to add my my 10 bobs worth!
Hops Belgian Bar is a local to a lot of people, and a regular "drop in" for numerous others. The beer is always pristine, whether you drink trade, fruit beers or even, as in my case, lager. Mike and Flick (the rainbow haired lady of certain previous posts) are two of the nicest, most helpful people you will ever meet. Free tasters before you buy is a given, any problems, mention it and it will be rectified straight away. The food, whether it's the famous pork pies or cooked menu food, is always glorious. I can only presume that the comments from from the "Gentlemen" below were entered as a grudge after, from what I believe, they had a couple of the stronger beers, got rowdy and loud, we're asked on a couple of occasions to calm things down a bit, wouldn't so we're asked to leave! This is a fantastic pub, whatever your drinks taste. Always a warm welcome (and trust me, the land lady is a very humours person) 10 out of 10 from me, my wife and my friends! Keep up the excellent work you two.

I wear my Hops T-shirt to bed every night, I don't think I could give a more ringing endorsement.
I wish I could take the actual pub to bed with me as I ❤️ it so much.

The only thing more depressing than the atmosphere was speaking to the bar maid. Really, if you don't like being 'cooped' up in your job, perhaps you should find something that's better suited a personality such as yours. Top tip - Not involving contact with the public.

Struggling to find what days and times they serve food. Just went on Wednesday lunch and the sign said "No food service today"
Written October 9, 2019
Hi -
Usually we serve Wednesday-Friday 12-2:30 with street food availability on Friday’s from 5pm& Saturday’s from 12 noon.
As a small independent family run business from time to time we have to put our family needs first. In this instance our son has just come back out of hospital and is not yet well enough to return to school.
Apologies if you came for food today and have been inconvenienced.
