Peckover House has got to be my favourite National Trust property. This merchants house is delightful and the garden is superb. Stop at the lovely cafe (eating inside or out), and buy some quality plants. Very easy to spend most of the day there. If...More

The 4 stars is really made up of 4 for the garden and 3 for the house. Finding the delightful garden was a pleasant surprise though I should have expected it. The cat cemetery was an unusual feature. There are greenhouses and a stables /...More

Dear David F, Thank you for your review of Peckover. I'm really glad you enjoyed the garden - it certainly is coming into full bloom. I am sorry you were less impressed with the house. I was a little confused when you state that there...More

The volunteer staff really enthuse about this house and one can see why. This lovely old house reveals a fascinating account of the family who lived in it. As for the garden it is an oasis of calm and beauty in the city centre.

Great to visit. Beautiful rooms, fun trail for children and gorgeous gardens. The staff were very friendly and helpful; even found a taxi for us when virtually none available. Sit in the garden in a deckchair and relax or play croquet on the lawn.

Dear Rechinout, Thank you for your review - really pleased you enjoyed the garden, pianist and the croquet, which we had just put out that weekend. All of the contents of the house were sold in a two day sale in September, 1948, so the...More

Enjoyed a visit to Peckover House, a small but interesting house that tells a story on the house. Gardens are lovely and the Barn Restaurant serves lovely NT food.

Visited in March with only limited tours of the house - which we missed. Gardens were lovely though - spring bulbs + primroses/primulas were spectacular. The gardeners here have done a super job. Large NT cafe onsite which was excellent too! Went round in a...More
