We really enjoyed our peaceful walk here today. There are lots of places to stop and watch the wildlife. Volunteers in the visitor centre are very committed and friendly, very clean toilets!

I was exploring the area as a newly arrived resident and stumbled upon this beauty. Gorgeous hideaway for walks, quiet moments by the water, wildlife and fresh air. So quiet, even though it's just next to some relatively busy roads.

If you're a nature lover or indeed looking for some peace and tranquility then look no further. Recommend a picnic on a sunny day and look out for the butterflies. LOVELY. Cafe and toilet facilities as well as parking.

I visit the pits at Paxton on a regular basis. The choice of trails and habitats means you can see something different each time you visit. The gravelled paths are pretty much all on the flat so walking is easy going, the choice is about...More
