Been there before under previous owners and it had good atmosphere, jolly reputation and tasty food. Now Enid dedication room has almost disappeared and it's a bit soulless. Could easily do better. Bring back or recreate some Blyton displays? Better menu? Dress staff as Noddy, Big Ears or Famous Five with lashings of tomato and ginger beer? Enid would not... More

I was in the area last week and had the opportunity to visit this pub, main reason being because I wanted to visit the Enid Blyton room. The Enid Blyton room is no longer. New owners took over in January and anything Enid Blyton related was taken back by the Enid Blyton Society, why? I had waited so long to... More

The Red Lion at Knotty Green, Beaconsfield has new proprietors who are bringing about change. The Enid Blyton collection has gone to a new home, making way for more dining tables. Superb food emerges from the kitchen; gastropub/fine dining quality at reasonable prices, so well worth a detour, or a regular visit if you're a local. The range of bar... More

Basic food was fine, but place looked very bare, no atmosphere. I would be unlikely to return. I think the Enid Blyton theme has been removed. All in all, there is nothing to distinguish this pub.

We went to this pub for lunch as after visiting nearby Bekonscot Model Village, and had chosen this establishment specifically to see the Enid Blyton snuggery as I've been a fan of her work for many years. The food was great but we weredisappointed to discover that the snuggery is no more. Seemingly the previous proprietors took all the books... More

We went there today just to visit Enid Blyton's local pub, it's a lovely little pub, very child friendly, which is always a bonus. The food was ok, but if you are an Enid Blyton fan then you must visit this pub!

Great beer, exceptional bar staff and really friendly locals. Karaoke on Christmas Eve - normally we'd run a mile but at the Red Lion it was great.

We arrived after serving had stopped for food, a large group of 9 including children and a dog and the chef and waiting staff agreed to accommodate us. Not only did they go above and beyond by cooking and serving 9 different meals + a bowl of water for the dog and a bowl for dog food but the landlady... More

We arrived at the Red Lion on a day when dinner was not served, but the land lady accommodated us of her own accord and got us tea and a snack. We were there mainly to check out the Enid Blyton "sunggery", and not only was it snug, clean and inviting, but our children could not be peeled away! Upon... More

We stopped off here to bring a pair of junior Blyton obsessives to see the Enid Blyton room and have an early kids dinner. We were met with such incredible hospitality and warmth that it was a fantastic experience. The landlady was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and went to extraordinary lengths to keep us all happy - reinflated a bouncy castle,... More
