This is also know as gay head light. It was just moved about 130 ft to protect it from erosion. It is maintained and you can go in for about $5.

I enjoyed everything about Martha's Vineyard until my encounter with traffic cop at Gay Head... my host and our house were beautiful, Tisbury, Oaks Bluff, Edgartown, Chilmark Larsen's (omg the Lobster was the best), Seafood Shanty, the beaches, the people who live on the island, the business owners we talked with, the cops who provided directions and guidance were all kind, warm, and had the right kind of island feeling. The traffic cop at Gay Head approached with a ticket book in his hand while we were driving in, did not offer any directions as to where to park even though there was parking at the end of the circle - we discovered that on our way out. He was very quick to offer parking tickets - but no directions to people who were visiting. I will plan to visit Martha's Vineyard again but will definitely not return to Gay Head sadly. I think the pictures I got there will have to suffice.…

The lighthouse is located at the top of Aquinnah Cliffs and is open to the public for a small entrance fee. You can climb to the very top where the revolving light is located. Pretty cool! There is limited, timed parking at this location and I mean timed!! Over stay by just a minute and you'll receive your souvenir parking summons from the Town of Aquinnah! If you're going to tour the lighthouse, shops and have lunch, then park in the lot at the bottom of the hill.…
