- Christian MCopenhagen, Denmark6,101 contributionsA church with lots of life and atmosphere.Since 1545, this church has served as a meeting place and a comforting haven for Valladolid's Catholic community. During the Sunday mass at 5 PM, you can still feel the strong faith that unites people of all ages and social classes. People make the sign of the cross at both the entrance and exit, kneel during the sacrament, and sing and pray aloud together with the priest. Valladolid's cathedral might not look like much at first glance, but its vibrant inner life gives the church meaning and relevance.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 21, 2024
- DzenySarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina598 contributionsIglesia en ValladolidWe visited Valladolid for just one hour, after returning to Cancun from the archaeological zone of Chichen Itza. The Church is located on the main square of the town, with lots of food stands with sweet stuff and souvenirs to buy around it. I was surprised to find out that it was built from stones from a pyramid who was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadors.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 25, 2024

We only stopped here for about 20 minutes to have a walk around after our tour of chichen itza. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and a great photo opportunity. We were here later on in the day and it was incredibly hot. There’s not tonnes of shade so make sure you wear a hat and bring lots of water.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 15, 2024

- Atomic AdventuresLas Cruces, New Mexico145 contributionsWonderful Historic ChurchThe church is situated right on the square in Valledolid and is a staple of the square. The architecture is anchored in the Spanish Colonial period and is a lovely experience. The inside of the church has some interesting pieces and displays. The people were quiet and respectful (hats off while inside) while walking through. Coffin Jesus was a bit disturbing but you still have to appreciate the history of how people worship. The beggars outside of the church are standard fare in Mexico so don't be alarmed. Entry is free.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 11, 2024

Pretty cathedral to walk into while walking around the town square. Must be respectful of those worshipping. Walking around is about five minutes so it does not take long to visit but is worth going in. No admission.

A beautiful cathedral in the center of Valladolid that offers some down time in the shade to relax, reflect and say a few prayers. The architecture is very stunning and the building has some very neat features and feel. Set right across from the central park, it is a nice spot and free to visit

The Cathedral of San Servacio stands high above anything else in Valladolid and makes for a stunning picture with the park in the foreground. The exterior shows intricate markings and carvings and the interior is just a wonderful.

In this ancient cathedral in the city centre of Valladolid, the statues of the saints are placed in glass cases. Do not forget to make a generous donation for the maintenance of this beautiful building.

So, we stopped at cenote for 90 minutes but our tour bus gave us just 20 minutes to explore Valladolid and nearby areas, great...!!
That why I recommend coming by yourself. No doubt church looks very beautiful from outside, but we did not have time, so we just roamed in central park, have churros and then came back. Central Park was full of people, warrior dressed guys, vendors.
Streets were looking so beautiful, vibrant, colorful from the bus. We should have stayed here for longer time.
I recommend visiting here. It is as vibrant as it can be
