We had a wonderful experience on our recent visit to Maya Chan Beach. After our cruise docked (January 2020) we walked a short way into town and we were picked up by a van and taken Maya Chan. It was very organized. Upon arrival we were WELL taken care of. We had our own little spot with chairs, umbrella and bed. Drinks and chips were served and we thoroughly enjoyed the royal treatment. My husband got a massage! The highlight was the traditional Mayan lunch that we had. It was AMAZING and we are still talking about it. It was the best food on our trip. This cozy little place is not a fancy beach with crystal blue water but it is a place to thoroughly unwind with everything you could ask for. We absolutely loved it!

We were on our first Royal Caribbean cruise and had never heard of Costa Maya until we saw it on our itinerary. I didn’t see anything on the options for RC excursions that our whole family would be interested in. I did a little research on TripAdvisor and found Maya Chan. The reviews were too good to be true, but I can 100% guarantee you, they are true! We were nervous about booking outside the cruise for excursions but they do such a great job of reassuring you if anything goes wrong, they will work with you and make it right. The walk to get out of the port was a bit rough as it was super crowded but we followed the instructions and made it to the pick up spot. After a short van ride, we arrived and were greeted then given a quick introduction to the resort area. We were walked to our spot for the day and brought fresh chips with pico and guacamole. They also delivered welcome drinks, and then off to the buffet. I had seen pictures of the food, but it was truly the best meal I’ve had in Mexico. My kids even asked for second helpings. It’s been almost a month since we’ve been there and my daughter just asked me about the food we ate that day. It was SO good! We have stayed at probably 20 different resorts in Mexico but we have never had service this good. They were so attentive and accommodating. They even came out to our floaty chairs in the water to take our drink orders. Seriously they go above and beyond in every aspect. Better than a $700 a night resort! We enjoyed the kayaks, floaty chairs, and paddle boats. They have dogs on the property and my kids adored playing with them all day. My husband inspired me to write this review today as he mentioned he would go on that same cruise itinerary just to go back to Maya Chan. Just for an afternoon... If you are lucky enough to snag a reservation, you will spend the rest of your days wishing you were still there!

We went to the beach with a large group from our cruise ship. The shuttle service was quite easy (much better than the effort required to leave the port complex) and they delivered us quickly to the beach. Drinks were waiting, as well as chairs, umbrellas, & lounges. The food was delicious and plentiful. Drinks were delivered constantly by the amazingly attentive staff. On the way back everybody talked about how good the service was. There was a good variety also: beer, wine, soft drinks, liquor.

From start to finish this was just the best day. It started with the very clear directions we received as soon as we made contact. David, the owner's son, met us at the entrance and made sure we knew all that was available to us. We had a group of six and they placed us in the perfect spot. We had six chairs, a lounger and a hammock and really couldn't have been happier. The cabana cover provided the perfect amount of shade while still allowing those who wanted sun to get that as well. The lunch served was the best of all the lunches we had at the four different ports we traveled. Four of us had the 30 minute massages and they were well worth the price. This was our first port and it was just what we all needed. A perfect beach day. I think all of us felt so relaxed and just HAPPY when we left. The drinks were perfect and we never had to go find anyone to get refills. They weren't too strong nor too weak. I believe we could have asked for them to be stronger and they would have made them that way but it truly wasn't needed. One of the best things is that there were no vendors! We got real tired of local people constantly coming right up to us asking if we wanted to buy things when we were trying to relax. The only non-positive thing I would say is that when we went to the pick up point we ended up waiting for a bus for 30 minutes or so. There was a gal there but she did not seem to be in any hurry to get us anywhere. We were all so anxious to get there that it seemed we were wasting our beach time sitting on the cement. Either way, we will all be going back at our first availability.

From the moment they guided us to our assigned beach chairs and shading to the constant stream of drinks to the wonderful food....this was a great day. They go out of their way to make your stay top notch. Their pre-visit email was very detailed with instructions on exactly how to find them right outside the ship port gates. Everyone had their own beach chairs, no fighting over those...and water toys were plentiful. Kayaks, water chairs, you name it. They have a wide variety of drinks & beers on the menu, but we found out that they make BBC (Bailey's, Bananas & Coloda) and we were set for the day. This is the best activity when sailing into the Cost Maya Cruise ship port.
