Cenote visit in Tulum
Jan 2021 • Family
We were in Tulum for a week with our family in weeklong trip with 3 generations and the baby 10 mo old. I wanted something appropriate for the baby and didn’t need all to swim and discussed with the concierge at El Pez. She suggested cenotes Santa Cruz which was perfect for us. Nice and cool in the jungle, somewhat rustic but local. The water was completely clear and deep. The baby could see the fish. There were tables shaded by thatched local roofs and the family stayed by the table while some braved to cool water, while some just had tacos and nachos , very cheap or had beer or special mango Margauritas with pepper salt. A lovely afternoon.

This tour was Excellent you got to take part in many different things in one tour..This was the best..snorkeling, shopping, cenote cave tour..was wonderful. .our guides were excellent, even an educational tour of the Tulum ruins. Lunch at a Mayan restaurant and the photographer that followed us through the caves caught every experience we had perfectly. .sold us cd of the excursion. .Excellent is all I can say and reasonable cost.

Cenote Santa Cruz es fantastico!
Sep 2020
What a great experience. First off, Victor was fantastic. Friendly and knowledgeable, he was an excellent tour guide. As for the tour, WOW. It was great to experience the cenotes in such a private and personable fashion. Highly recommend to anyone interested in experiencing a cenote, and should be a must visit for anyone staying across the street at Secrets Akumal.

Outstanding

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Santa Cruz cenote with Viktor. Viktor was personable and casual, yet very informative. All 4 of our kids, aged 8, 11, 14 and 17 said this was their favourite outing of our trip to Akumal. We highly recommend this tour! It should not be missed! Thanks Viktor!

The cenote is breathtaking. Not crowded as other cenotes I've visited. Wonderful experience.

Must do!
Feb 2020
We did a tour which included to Coba, Tulum and the cenote. They put us in small groups which was great. The cenote was wonderful. I recommend you bring snorkel gear to experience everything. There is a swing rope for fun, and a few caves to swim under if you are brave.

Rare and outstanding cenoté
Feb 2020
We took a tour with Mexico Kan Tours out of Tulum to Cenoté Santa Cruz. It clearly is an experience of a lifetime.

Much care is taken to protect the area, so no sunscreen was allowed and a shower was required before entering the cenoté. A short ladder climb down and we entered the underworld. The beauty is breathtaking. Flashlights were passed out and Takeo our guide, gave us a short synopsis of what to expect. He also gave great commentary throughout the walk and was very conscientious of our safety. This is an amazing tour and wading through the cenoté seemed almost spiritual. The spectacular stalagmite and stalactite formations are spectacular. The walk through the cenoté took about 45 minutes, but it seemed like only minutes, that’s how amazing it was.

After the tour of the cenoté we had lunch in the jungle which gave us time to chat and ask questions.

This was the last thing we did before we had to head home, and it was a great way to end our vacation. It truly is an experience of a lifetime!

Wonderful Experience
Feb 2020
We were told that the Cenote Santa Cruz is a “must see” and we were not disappointed. We were 4 people picked up at our condo by Juan Pablo (JP) and it was immediately obvious that he has a passion for Mexico and the natural beauty. He made us very comfortable and alleviated any apprehensions. He explained everything and told us so much history of the surrounding area. JP kept insisting that this was “our” tour and we could take as much or as little of his time as we needed. The Cenote is breathtakingly beautiful with cool, clear water and we felt like we were in another world. This was not my first visit to a Cenote in Mexico but this was by far, the best, most informative and most beautiful one. I highly recommend Cenote Santa Cruz.
